What, for starting a forum? Is that what you want me to stop - you want me to shut it all down because somebody put a Companies House link up? You're description of me is a yellow card offence on here by the way, so if you support this forum and it's rules, I'd suggest you mind your language. And if the admins choose to follow the sanctions as shown here (like they did with otium - feel free to check the rules on the link - if anything they were lenient) then I'll accept their decision with good grace. I won't have a tantrum about it. I certainly won't post threatening messages about them. And if somebody on a forum I admined posted one, it would be taken down the moment I became aware of it. If you genuinely can't see the fucking problem with posting somebody's home address on a publicly accessible forum, then you must be a fucking imbecile. I've seen enough of your posts to know you're not that stupid. Just an appalling human being, and @ennius is no better for posting it. Ive made my thoughts on the banning of otium perfectly clear and all the hypocrisy and double standards around it. But putting someones home address out there on some forum is totally out of order on every level. Whoever did that needs to give their head a good fucking shake. Im sure nothing will come of that grim, but you have my sympathies because that must be very unsettling. As for starting boards for like minded people, doesn't that just defeat the object? What you want.. and what I want DATM to be ( which is why I am really pissed off at what happened to otium ) is a board where people with different opinions come together and debate them. So long as those opinions are legal and not promoting violence against anyone ( and like it or not Otiums views that he got banned for are actually very mainstream and held by many millions of people in this country ) then that is what a good board should be about. We all get a bit arsey from time to time, but there's way too much toxic nastiness on this board lately. Some posters can't seem to make a post without insulting someone! And you take your share of the blame for that grim because as an admin and someone who sets and implements the rules, you should set some sort of standard and frankly you haven't. I couldn't sum up my general position about the whole situation better if I tried. So I'll just echo this. Well said Captain. |

I agree with every sentiment, even those critical of me. Once this while debacle is over there needs to be some self reflection from everyone involved, myself included. This past few days has reflected a few posters in a bad light and, tbh, I would have perhaps expected you to align yourself with those lauding the new forum. That you haven't is a pleasant surprise and one for which I have developed a new respect for you. No worries and I appreciate you accepting that criticism . If Ive got something controversial to say id rather do it somewhere it will be challenged. I enjoy a row as you know! Similarly if I want to say something about someone, ill do it to their face ( in a forum way ) so they can defend themselves, not do it in my gangs little clubhouse. Bloody hell, get a room you two! Or failing that, you nip around to his house as we now know his address! |

Within the first day someone realised they’d overstepped the mark, deleted a post and then you ‘tidied up’ the rest of the posts for them. Two examples on your board, that seem very similar to this one. While not everyone agrees with what the admins do, at least they don’t take their bats home and threaten to pull the plug on the whole thing. |

So banning Otium was AGAINST the will of the people and that was bad and banning Nick because it WAS the will of the people is also bad. Make your mind up. It’s an imperfect system not least cos no one can agree on what is and isn’t acceptable. You found that out on day one as the sole admin of your board. I agree that the current admin team can be a bit fussy but I wouldn’t do it for all the tea China and it’s rare that they ban anyone without warnings. It’s just a shame that the board is being split but not the first time, eh? |
