While he hasn’t exactly set the football world on fire since he left Ipswich,he would give us an option up front as someone who could get on the end of some decent crosses and at 28 he might prove to be a better option than Robson-Kanu,the other free agent who has been mentioned.Preston have shown interest in him so as we traditionally leave things to the last minute (this season being the exception,he will no doubt be completing the paperwork at Deepdale as I write.)
Danny Ward might as well have spent the afternoon in Meadowhall on Saturday.Carlos seems to have forgotten that he signed Sinani and Campbell is only handy for 20 minutes towards the end.A front three of Koroma Wickham and Thomas would be fairly handy provided that we can add that creative midfielder to the mix should O’Brien move to the Skip.

Since 2013 he's spent more time on the treatment table than on the pitch, only 76 games and 19 goals in the last 8 years. Although he looked like he was going to be a decent player when he was younger it would be a massive gamble to sign him with his injury record.

Well, he has marginally better goals per game stats than Robson-Kanu who scores roughly a goal every 6/7 games over his career, 7 a season. Based on our love of a striker who never scores, I wouldn't be surprised if we signed either of them.

Wickhams goals per season is half what you quote as he plays on average about half the league games. 220 games 43 goals 13 seasons. It’s a no from me |
