Didn't realise Phil ran two clubs. Is that allowed?

Fair play to their owner, he realised the main issue at the club was no beer

I bet he was pulling his hair out. Fair play for putting it that clearly for the fans to understand.

I went down to Sutton United yesterday for a couple of hours after they appealed for volunteers to help move the pitch covers into position around the ground for when they’ll need to use them. That Mark Clemmit guy was there interviewing the chairman on the pitch.
I had a good look round whilst I was there as there’s been a lot of changes having to be made to meet new criteria for the EFL. It’s still very much a building site, with a new permanent seated stand being built for away fans (ready by October), a temporary seated stand has been erected for away fans, new floodlights were installed meaning a lot of digging out of concrete that has been temporarily replaced by rough tarmac, and a temporary scaffolded covered area has been set up for wheelchair users. Underneath the main stand it was a right state, everything covered in dust etc, and the car park area is largely out of bounds due to renovation work. To be honest, the ground really isn’t fit for the EFL.
The club has also had a lot of problems with ST’s. They are having to issue temporary tickets to all ST holders for their first home game on Saturday as their actual ST won’t be sent out till next week, and there’s been a lot of errors made. It seems they’re using the same distributor as AFC Wimbledon (and Southampton apparently) who also had a lot of problems with their ST’s last week.
These smaller clubs have a tough time of it and they rely heavily on volunteers. Like Barnet, the club has apologised for the problems with the ST’s.

Sounds a complete nightmare. It must be so frustrating for him when so many of the problems are out of his hands, but he is the public face and that is who people blame.

The chef was not up to standard. That's him consigned to cheffing in a Little Chef for life.

It would appear that getting match day catering staff is also a problem we have as well…

It would appear that getting match day catering staff is also a problem we have as well… It's a shame we outsource to agency, even though I understand 90% of clubs too. The amount of potential savings from employing staff in-house (And then allowing them to work for an agency for their other days of the week) would be huge. The member of staff earns £8.91 and the agency will be charging around £14/15 and skimming £6 per person, per hour off the top.

The member of staff for the agency will be working multiple days a week at various venues. They will only be working for town once a fortnight. So they'd need to have another job as well which isn't easy to find if you can't work some Saturdays.

It seems to be a footballing version of Phoenix Nights, It is obviously not funny for the club , but would make a great comedy series!

There’s big shortages in logistics, hospitality, retail, lots of industries. Turns out we needed all those baristas, lorry drivers and waiters from Europe after all.

Lots of places are struggling to recruit staff. I’ve never quite understood why clubs take on this catering nonsense and don’t just outsource each sales point to small (local) traders, the club taking a slice of the sales. More choice for us, less hassle for the club. I remember the chippy van behind the terrace at Leeds Rd used to do a roaring trade
