Team P. W. D. L.
Sheffield Utd. 100. 39. 35. 26. Leeds. 80. 32. 19. 29. Barnsley. 76. 32. 15. 29. Sheffield We’d. 63. 25. 17. 21. Rotherham. 58. 29. 18. 11. Hull City. 55. 23. 11. 21. Bradford. 52. 21. 18. 13. Doncaster. 45. 20. 12. 13.
The recent 100th clash against our Yorkshire rivals The Blades made me have a wee sneak preview of head to head results against our other fellow county rivals.. It makes for beautiful reading !
There are some teams we are neck and neck with like, Brentford, Bournemouth, Bristol Rovers and Preston North End.
We are of course behind The Manchester giants and Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle, however incredibly we’ve only just slipped behind the most successful club in English footy history (Liverpool) in our recent 4 Premiership clashes.
Town are are also leading against some well established clubs like Nottingham Forest, Watford, W.B.A. Wolves, Tottenham, West Ham and Swansea.
However we are down to teams that one might think we “shouldn’t” be down to, like Shrewsbury, Gillingham, Blackpool, Grimsby, Wimbledon, Tranmere and Swindon.
Aye... the old footy is a funny game at times right enough !
The crux of this page is to give HTAFC fans the chance of bragging rights in the work, the boozer or wherever, a chance to let the fans of rival teams know that Huddy Town are The UNDISPUTED Kings of England’s most beautiful county of Yorkshire...
Enjoy socking it to them as desired all ye finest Terriers and Terrieresse’s of DATM !
(P.S. Thank you, to The Brilliant HTAFC Archive for easy access and reading to make up the stats for my letter)

Unfortunately Middlesborough is in Yorkshire too. 😉 Was going to say the same myself, and yes it is. Ceremonially and geographically at least. Even Stockton signposts it's Yorkshire parts in the Borough, after years of the people in Yarm especially going on about it. They'd leave and go back officially if they could, sadly Stockton will never allow this. People in Yarm and Kirklevington are the only ones with any brass up here, paying rates, and subsidising the benefits for the rest. ( I live in neither by the way) Our record against Boro has plummeted over the years. Back in the 60s, there was if memory serves me rightly a couple of wins advantage, still to Boro, but lord knows what it is now. Must be at least a ten game positive for Boro. Always a tough place to go to Ayrsome Park, and things don't seem to have improved for Town at The Riverside either.

This site is quick and easy for looking up head-to-head data... www.soccerbase.com/teams/head_to_head.sd?team_id=1309&team2_id=1697Boro* are +10 wins on us in all competition, having gained +5 of that in the last 10 years since we started playing them relatively regularly again...prior to that, from '97 backwards they had six straight victories over us, including that famous Cup game where Ravenelli, Juninho, Emerson and Beck etc gave us a lesson but Andy Payton made it a night to remember - happiest I've ever been walking away from a defeat...amazing really considering it wasn't just a defeat, it was 5-1...fair to say that our fans won the vocal battle inside the stadium that night! *they don't seem to like that abbreviation!?

Unfortunately Middlesborough is in Yorkshire too. 😉 I know they once were. but are they not now in Teesside? I always found that people from Hull always remained loyal to Yorkshire and resented Humberside, whereas people from Middlesbrough took to Teesside and preferred to be linked to the North East rather than Yorkshire - a small selective sample admittedly.

Middlesbrough is in North Yorkshire. It was briefly part of Teesside and then Cleveland but returned to its rightful home 25 years ago.

I was on holiday in Magaluf as a 16 year old when a bunch of what I thought were Geordies were walking round singing Yorkshire, Yorkshire etc. Confused fuck out of me at the time.

Unfortunately Middlesborough is in Yorkshire too. 😉 Middlesbrough is in Yorkshire no matter what they did with reorganising county boundaries in the 70's. Yorkshire played cricket there, good enough.

I was in the home stand that game. My dad had a friend who could get tickets in the home end. (Think towns allocation was a sell out) Literally 20 yards away from the Town fans who were singing their heads off. I had to fake cheer 5 times that night.

I always found that people from Hull always remained loyal to Yorkshire and resented Humberside, whereas people from Middlesbrough took to Teesside and preferred to be linked to the North East rather than Yorkshire - a small selective sample admittedly. It's a bit subjective, it's always been still part of Yorkshire. The government themselves said the old counties were still existant, only new administrative areas were formed. Younger people still use Teesside, some insist it's not in Yorkshire but it is. Teesside itself only existed as an administrative area from 68-74 when Ted Heath introduced Cleveland. When in lockdown the region was now called Tees Valley, as in we couldn't go out of Stockton, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, or Redcar and Cleveland, like you were stuck in Kirklees. You can no more call Teesside a county than you can Tyneside and formerly Merseyside, though they've always been known as such to locals. Tranmere is part of the wirral, also part of the new authority of Merseyside, not to mention Cheshire. They did take to things more up here, because it's part of the north east too, always the farthest outpost of Yorkshire, but would you say you lived in Huddersfield Kirklees? Of course not, it's also part of West Yorks, and the West Riding still. Time for a dog walk so sorry for waffling, but Boro is in Yorkshire still, and every footie fan up here calls them Boro. The only chant they've got is the boring "come on Boro" over and over again, or so it often seems.
