Where did that come from.......Excellent Town - I suggest that it came from the previous games this month enabling units to gel together. The defence in particular knows looks solid after a few games of competitive championship football plus a game against Everton. I recall it took Elphick a few games to settle in and the sentiment had changed by the time of his injury. In a pre Toffolo back 4 earlier this month 3 of the players are new to the club. We are still a work in progress but those poor games earlier on where we picked up points will come in handy next April/May.

Brilliant performance, we have so much more depth with the players we brought in. Lee’s and Pearson were excellent, and at the other end watching Koroma and Thomas is a delight. Well done Danny Ward too, great game, took his chance really calmly, hopefully he can kick on from here. Time to give the club and particularly the much maligned recruitment department some praise I think.

Really enjoyed it today, well done Town and Corberan.
I am still though viewing this as we are 10 points nearer to safety than we were before the season started. I would still happily take 12th or 14th now.

I don't accept anything now other than better runs of results and better team performances, where that leads, who knows?

Suddenly the next fixtures look winnable or is the red wine influencing me?

Stoke away may burst our bubble, I suspect, but hoping to go and you never know. We're on a roll now. 10 pts from 5 games must be ahead of expectations, so let's see where the next few games take us.

Interestingly, I had a reminder of a post I’d made on social media about the league table after 5 games of the 2016/17 season and Town were sat 1st with 13 points. I’m not getting carried away thinking lightning will strike twice but how nice is it to be kicking around the top end of the table after the first few games than propping it up?
Yes the form has been patchy and we’ve rode our luck but if we can maintain the effort and performances of these last two matches then things actually feel a lot more positive than for a long time.
Just need to get Mbenza sold and buy a striker to feed off Thomas…

They say you must average 2 points per game for automatic promotion.
We are exactly on point.
Of course I realise this is all tongues in cheeks but no reason why we can't finish mid table.

I’m as happy as the next pissed up bloke but let’s remember Preston and Reading were absolute gash.

I'd take 2 points from the upcoming away double header, the Blackpool game is definitely winnable, the Stoke one looks tough.

I predicted we’d finish 11th, loving the start we’ve made but I think we will be there or there abouts realistically. We will have injury issues again most likely and despite the good start at the moment our strikers aren’t really firing. Great to get a good start under our belts, especially with the Covid problems and how that effected team shape and the tough fixtures (on paper) we’ve had.

It will hopefully allow some game time for players like Diarra and Austerfield as well. Last season was so pressured it was difficult for the youngsters to get much game time.

52 points is the first aim for me - anything beyond that is an achievement......stay injury free and a couple of loanees now and in Jan and we may be sniffing about the top end....then who knows....moist panties time in the playoffs anyone ?
