Some of it did unquestionably. But most of our defensive issues were caused by players fannying about with the ball amongst themselves when they dont really have the ability to do that without making a complete balls of it once or twice a game.
Thats nothing to do with Schofield.
Feel sorry for Schofield. Local lad, been at the club since he was a kid and probably a fan.
Living the dream really, but put in the firing line too soon and at the mercy of our boo boys who have wrecked his confidence now to the point it will be difficult for him to have a career here.
Must have become tortuous for his family who were probably sat in the stands watching their lad struggle and get the abuse.
Think with the current climate at HTFC the fans just arent prepared to have much patience and empathy for anyone.
Theres a lot who are like coiled springs just primed to lash out at any and everyone they can, particularly the vocal younger end who perhaps only started going 4 or 5 years ago so have a different expectation level to older fans.
( eg they bugger off en masse to the concourse after half an hour at 0-0 at Sheffield Utd to sing about how we're going down! )
Noticed Schofield going round all the players at Bramell Lane and on Saturday congratulating them all after the final whistle. He really wants to be part of the group but just can't see it happening for him now.
Needs to build his career at a different club because if he can improve on his weaknesses there's a very decent keeper there. His shot stopping is well above average.
