Bizarre that he wasn't on as soon as we were 3-0 up against Blackpool, instead we waited and gave him a couple of minutes.
Another standard Carlos issue unfortunately.

Once he touches the ball he'll be fine! Maybe see what he's like when given more time, ie from the start! If you watch him play he has made some good runs in behind the defence yet the majority of our team are incapable of making the pass. Ward barely touched the ball in 2/3 games and was hooked at half time yet Ward fanboys still love him. Most of the time it cannons off his foot. Only the majority ?

Give him a start as time on the pitch will help him improve whereas Ward seems to get worse with each game. From what we are told he is good with both feet and with his height he will no doubt cause defences greater issues.

Like many west ham fans i dont know how good mipo is or is going to be, very surprised he wasnt even on the bench last night unless injured, dont know if he suits your system if so no point bein on loan, we had a striker sebastian haller, did not suit our system, now flying and banging in goals at ajax, dissapointed he has had so little action, and a few minutes here and there no good for any player.

Unfortunate that last night could have been an opportunity for him to show his worth as it was open play and lots of opportunity in the box (at both ends).

Anyone know if he is injured?

Steep learning curve for him especially when Carlos demands so much from his centre forwards in terms of all round play. If it were me in charge I'd get him starting every B team game while he adapts to the physical and work rate sides of things. It's not a stretch to work out why Campbell is always the bench option if he's not starting, but hopefully Mipo can show why we put such a big permanent bid in for him once he's adapted to the men's game.

Maybe fair to suggest that he’s not as ready for first team football as we first expected or certainly not to the championship level.
It happens with youngsters and this maybe one of them situations, hopefully he comes good and we see the benefits but from showings thus far and his omission past few weeks maybe he’ll be recalled before his times up with us.

I would imagine that West Ham won't be too happy him not getting much game time, perhaps he may go back in January and then loaned out somewhere else.

Yeah that's what I was saying too. Not sure why he didn't start the game last week if he wasn't going to be in the first team squad. We'd also be able to compare him to Harratt who's actually older than him. If he can't get in ahead of Ward and Campbell (and presumably Rhodes if fit) then I'm not sure why West Ham would leave him here. Be much better for them to loan him to a local side (Dagenham?) to get league football than be up here not playing games at any level.

Unless he breaks into the first team & starts getting regular game time here I'm sure West Ham will recall him in January & send him somewhere where he will.
I wonder if we had the bid accepted (£1m+ ?) would Carlos be leaving him out of the matchday squads?

Given that I'd heard we were one of many clubs looking to secure him on loan, I agree West Ham will look to move him elsewhere if we don't give him a fair crack

Carlos really takes his time to bed in new signings if the option's there. Not sure it is as much for a loan with a January recall clause, while another striker is injured. If he was our player we'd be prioritising his development over chucking him on for 5 minutes here and there when he's still a bit out of his depth in order to keep West Ham happy

All seems a bit strange with this lad. All other young stars have been introduced really quickly. I have no idea what's going on, but I would at least like to see him start.

I said the same at the time, we were cruising. I've noticed it with other players in the past too, academy players who were making their club debuts thrown on at 5-1 down. Man management certainly not his strong point.

I’m sure He’ll get game time as the season progresses. If not West Ham will take Him back in the Jan window

We don't really know what's going on with the player. He's obviously rated by both us and West Ham, but he's not shown anything in the very limited time he's had on the pitch - he hasn't even shown any "Campbell'esque" chasing down defenders and giving free kicks away. The six outfield substitutes limit isn't helping him, as realistically both Ward or Campbell should be in the match day squad if fit. He's also away from home and presumably limited in the amount of mixing he can do with the squad due to Covid. He's also swapped David Moyes for Carlos - which must be one hell of a shock to the system . I hope he gets chance to show what he can do, but with Rhodes starting to train again his chances are going to become even more limited. Based on the fact that he's playing on the right side of a front three at Walsall and getting more experience, it may be that recalling Philips in January would be a better option.

I'd send him back as we can't afford to be waiting for people to be ready. Sign somebody more first team ready

The lad might be home sick and cant settle, he wont be the first or last if that was the case. He's a mancunian, so probably less of an issue here as in East London. On the B Team situation I really can't see him doing that. He can play with better quality teammates ay U23 level with West Ham. He has come here for first team football, so if he isn't getting it then he either is not ready at this level, does not suit this system or will not train as hard as required and adapt. I don't know what the issue is but Carlos does not seem happy playing him for a length of time and when he has played he has not really looked fully involved. I wouldnt be surprised to see him return to West Ham at Christmas but this is all just guess work on my part.

Not been seen in the last 3 match day squads, even after an international break.
Is he injured or has it just not worked out?

I'm inclined to think this has just been a step too big, too early for him. Unless something changes between now & January I expect he'll go back to West Ham.

I hope you are wrong and he eventually gets a chance to prove himself , It does seem strange that he is not getting into the squad , especially with Rhodes still to get fully fit , puzzled .
