I'd be astonished if we were willing to pay £2m for an 18 year old who hasn't had any taste of men's football whatsoever. Almost as ridiculous as Sheffield United paying over £20m for Rhian Brewster. Not quite but at least he'd played 20 games for Swansea in the Championship. Maybe the hierarchy were trying to take a punt, as many people on here have been requesting? If we had brought the lad in on a permanent deal, you can imagine the nay sayers going into meltdown, for the very reason you’ve stated. Yet we sign him on a loan deal and people are chuffed to bits (well almost). Hope the lad does well for us, hopefully the crowd will cut him a bit of slack if he has a couple of bad touches. I won’t hold my breath though….

I won’t hold my breath though….Don't think they're that bad with the youngsters. Levi had a couple of slips that could easily have resulted in a goal for Preston but I don't remember any adverse reaction from the crowd. They tend to single someone out for their abuse, this season it seems to be Holmes.

Cannot wait for his song.
There ain't nobody Like our Mipo (except for Kachunga)
He makes me happy
He makes me feel this way...

You have to earn the right to have your own song, surely? I thought that, but then hearing Thomas Heary get a belter in the days when Marouanne Fellaini was still a child totally destroyed that myth. I know he left about 20 years ago, but it still grates that somebody so shit could have a good song.

If he is half as good as Colwill, I will take that.

Fair few replies to the club's tweet about the signing from West Ham fans and they seem really positive about him, and about the move. Seems very well thought of.
The glass-three-quarters-full in me reckons this kid is another Leon Knight for us (but almost certainly not as much of dick).

Would be great if this turned out be the modern equivalent of when we had Ndlovu. Marks to town for recognising the issue with Rhodes out and trying to get some sort of cover, fingers crossed its a win win all round.

I don't have particularly fond memories of Afobe, but maybe I'm just still a bit miffed that he started the Peterborough game ahead of Rhodes. Or my memory's failing me - wouldn't be the first time!

There were stories that came out about him a few years later that suggested he wasn't a particularly nice human-being. Nothing to do with his time with us, though.

Ah, here we go: - Suspended from Twitter and investigated by the police for " Slag Alert Pictures" - sacked by Glentoran for alleged homophobic remarks on Twitter - abusing fellow-footballers on Twitteretc, etc

The stories were absolutely brilliant if I'm honest. His abuse of fellow footballers, namely one, being Jamie O'Hara was justified. He's an utter knobhead. He only informed him, that his missus at the time, was being piped by his mates and their mates mates, which I figured saved him a couple of years in the wrong relationship. Somega other stories though, he was a complete knobhead, but them two, were golden

(Hokey Cokey). Oh Mipo Mipo Mipo Oh Mipo Mipo Mipo Oh Mipo Mipo Mipo he gets the ball and scores a goal. (Repeat)! No song with that line in it should ever be sung by the over 11s. FMR indeed.

My only comment is don't put too much expectations on him and give him a chance. It will be his first shot at senior football and he may take awhile to get going.

That's funny. We bid £2m for Mipo last week for a permanent deal. Did we now; fact or DATM rumour? I know nothing, but if Brentford would do that type of thing then we will be aspiring to doing that kind of thing, maybe

I am a west ham season ticket holder, this move could work out well for mipo, for huddersfield and for west ham, he is only a kid and we dont know how good he is, he certainly knows where the back of the net is, right now there is no way he is getting in ahead of michael antonio, so this loan makes great sense, a lot of us at west ham will be following his progress at hudersfield and i hope he does well for you getting the goals to get you promoted, and comes back to us with the experience at senior level he needs.

What are his strong points, mate? From the clips I've seen, he can finish with both feet & he seems quite a big lad but does he hold the ball up well, have a lot of pace, decent in the air?

The first is the selective memory of a football fan it's finest. You're far from on your own; probably most make out it was an obvious choice, when it absolutely wasn't.
