The situation is ultimately our fault, so many of you seem to be forgetting that WE renewed his contract (without Mbenza’s consent); if you don’t have plans for a player the just release him, no point gambling on scrapping an extra few quid when it could cost you significantly more in the long run. But we did have his consent, because he agreed to it in the original contract he signed with us.

The answer is simple. Our wealthy and extremely competent owner needs to decide whether MBenza will be of any use to use for all or part of this season. If the answer is ‘yes’ get him in training and back on the pitch. If the answer is no - use your stash to honour the lad’s contract and let him go. Then we can all forget about him and turn our attention to more important things.
