Got to be virtually impossible to recruit that many and get every single one to be worldly (remember the tall Serbian geezer under Wagner…). Think the loans have been good. Best signing has been Nichols in my book, has added so much confidence in the defence it allows us to grind out those 1-0 games that we couldn’t with schofield. Most disappointing is signing an injured Jordan Rhodes, but can’t win them all.

I’m in the Good camp! Given where we are as a club…..if we can keep most of them fit most season we should be well away from danger….

Disaster - I mean how on earth did we let cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi sign for other clubs?

Good for me.
Disappointed the club couldn't move Mbenza on and possibly bring in a creative midfielder.
And I'd have liked to have seem 3 or 4 more of the youngsters in the B team go out on loan.
But overall happy with pretty much all that we brought in and glad we've kept LOB

Closed. And I'm looking forward seeing how the new signings all gel (and praying that Mbenza will bugger off to warm the bench in Turkey somewhere pronto)

Good.
Outgoings - On the positive side, we've got rid of most of the big earners whose salaries have hamstrung the club & the only player I'd actually want back from last season that is no longer here is Carel Eiting.
Incomings - I'm unconvinced by Jordan Rhodes & hope his wage demands weren't huge, but otherwise I'm happy. Lees looks better than I expected, Pearson looks good, Colwill will play for England. Sinani is a punt, but one that looks like it'll pay off quickly. Turton is struggling & I'm yet to be convinced that he's significantly better than Duhaney. Ruffels hasn't played yet - (looked ok in preseason but then so did Turton) so too early to say, but the club appear to have addressed a significant weakness there. Odubeko is an interesting one.
A word too about "punts". A similar poll taken at the end of the January window might not have been quite as complimentary as the club deserved. Sorba Thomas looks outstanding.
If we'd signed a creative midfielder & Mbenza had buggered off, I'd have scored it higher, but overall we look in better shape than we did at the end of the last window. Overall, well done HTAFC.

For me really good. I'll caveat that with 'given the circumstances.' We have witnessed that spending a lot of money doesn't necessarily guarantee results. Considering the minimal outlay I think this window has been really good. The first team seems transformed and we do seem to have some genuine cover with viable options to rotate players and use different formations. I think the board and recruitment team deserve credit where it is due. Another thing t celebrate is that we are able to attract top loan talent such as ESR and Colwill, we must be doing something right for these types of players to come here. The only negatives being Mbenza staying and that a couple of signings are still in the unknown category of whether or not they will be a success but I really like the look of Sinani, Mipo, Colwill, Nicholls and Pearson so far.

I'd really have liked to see a proper replacement for Eiting, and it's disappointing that the Mbenza situation hasn't been resolved, though I really can't blame the club for that. But certainly by comparison, this is the best window under Phil and in several years, so it's hard to rate it as anything other than really good.

Amazing how things like this differ purely on the back of the last result.
We’ve finally got the right number of players in each position, the quality is still lacking. Feels very lucky that Lee Nichols has settled in like he has and that Thomas has been able to play wingback as well as he has.

If we’d lost the last few games I reckon folk would be far less positive!!

I'm going with good all in all. If this lad from West ham starts smashing them in I may upgrade to very good.

I've voted good, but we all should remember that this is following our very poor record since gaining promotion.
We have a very low bar.

Far too early to judge. Let’s see where we are at the end of October. Hope the good form continues. So far we look like we might get away with doing it on a shoestring.

We addressed every area we desperately needed to and kept our MVPs. Yes, it would have been nice to have had a "marquee" signing, preferably a playmaker, but when compared with every window since the ones book ending the promotion season it's pretty good. Worth noting, though, that we could easily have lost to Preston and the Blades, and had we done that maybe our opinion on this question would be different. For once we got a bit of luck (Preston) and showed some previously non-evident backbone (Sheff U). We need to use the 9 from 9 (and the performance against Everton) as a building block. Perhaps the international break came at the wrong time (we may lose momentum) or maybe it could help - two more weeks to really blend the new signings etc.

I think it's been good to very good. I'm not sure you can add in a caveat of "its good because of our situation" because, that IS our situation. We can throw money around and needed to build again which we've started doing with what look like solid foundations. Our keeper and defence were shit to be blunt, you only have to look at goals conceded to see that. So we've brought in Nicholls, Lees, Pearson and Colwill, none of which at the moment look dodgy and all at the very least solid. I would also say Nicholls has possibly improved Sarr as well. Cover at both full backs was needed so we got Turton and Ruffels. Turton does look dodgy at the moment and would no doubt have benefitted from settling in more to the higher level before playing but Ruffels looks (from preseason and the few other times I've seen him) an improvement on any other left back used apart from Toffolo last season. We kept O'Brien who would have needed replacing, I'd have liked one more in there anyway but we've a solid foundation. Further forward Sinani looks promising, wide players were pretty much covered but we needed strikers so we got a couple, both risky for different reasons but we couldn't go out and sign a current proven goalscorer so one former goalscorer and hopefully an up and coming one were about as good as we could hope for.
With the foundations of a decent squad there now the hope would be that future windows we would need to bring less players in but higher quality.
