Can I draw our attention to Oldham and the current plight their supporters find themselves in.
A great Northern Club with proper supporters (supporters young and old who could within 45 minutes go and see such as the Manchester Clubs, Liverpool clubs, Burnley, Blackburn etc etc all at higher levels). But of course they wouldn’t as they love Oldham Athletic.
Bury going was sad and we all thought could never happen. This must never happen again.
Not sure what we can do to be honest, but we have had our own troubles financially and would be good somehow to support our friends at Oldham.

Do you mean help them financially? If so, it’s a resounding no. There are many clubs in this position, some a lot higher up the league ladder. What’s so special about Oldham and why would we bail out Mr Lemsagam? Because ultimately that is who you would be bailing out, not some supporter from Royton.

I accept recruitment of players and management staff has been inconsistent. Football is a highly scrutinised business that everybody involved has an opinion on but employing players and Head Coaches always has a risk element to it. I have tried my best, employing well-known managers that I thought would be successful, but they were not suitable for League Two. I changed the managers because I wanted the best for the club; I think Keith is a good Head Coach for us and has the right experience to help us do well in League Two. I accept some staff departures were not handled as they should have been but still stand by the decision on all people involved that it was the right decision for the Club. A lot of what occurred cannot be spoken about given legal proceedings. For example, Paul Scholes claimed I interfered with team selection, but there is a court decision we cannot talk about. I accept that over the last three years, poor appointments have been made in the business area of the Club which has cost us lots of money by paying people wages who were under achieving and indeed causing damage to the Club reputationally but myself and the Board are now happy with our off-pitch team that are delivering good results and repairing some of the damage created. I accept an element of naivety with regards to trusting people around the Club who claimed to have the best interests of the Club at heart when I took over, thankfully these people are no longer around the Club but having once been happy to share good times with me, they now are working hard to hurt me and my family which I find really upsetting. I accept that fan engagement could and should have been better with increased access to senior officials and Board members. I also believe that we should have continued with our official statements and other useful pieces of information to be shared through social media etc... instead of being dictated to by people not wishing to see anything positive. I forgot how many good fans we have in Oldham and beyond so to you, I apologise. I accept that we are not where I want us to be from a football perspective.

They really are in a mess and if they don’t sort things out on the pitch, could see them dropping out of the football league.
My brother is a long-time season ticket holder so I get to hear some of the behind the scenes stuff that’s going on.
When Mr Lemsagam senior first approached the club to buy it, he was turned down on fitness for purpose grounds. So, his younger brother was then used as the next person to buy them. EFL approved him so became the puppet for his older brother who was pulling the strings.
Senior Lemsagam is a football agent, so keeps throwing players on his books at the first team with a plan of being able to put them in the shop window and selling them. These players haven’t been good enough but the owner demanded they play.
There was the issue with the ownership of one of the stands and permission not being given for fans to use it.
Asset stripping of the highest order is being done; for those of you who the think PH is doing it to Town, this is on an industrial scale!
Joe Royal’s son has got a consortium together to buy the club, but so far all approaches have been rebuffed.
Talking to my brother, he’s very worried that they may follow Bury; one more northern corridor club on the brink.

My brother-in-law and nephew are both Oldham fans and it sounds like they are being stuffed by both the current and previous owners. The previous owner still owns the brand new stand with all the new corporate facilities in it and is allegedly charging so much rent that it has become uneconomical for the club to pay the rent. So the ground has four sides, but only the 3 worst are open for use. The current owner also owns some of the surrounding land and the theory is that he wants to sell it for development.
It makes our ground and training ground ownership and rental issues sound nice and simple!

I had a tw@t of a boss once that supported Oldham. Ever since, I have wanted them to lose. However, despite all that, I sincerely hope that they can pull through this for all ( except one) of their loyal supporters.

I use to live in Oldham and got to know a few latics supporters. There are a passionate bunch but you can say that about all fan's whoever they support, but with the Manchester clubs only down the road they don't have chance of getting a big fan base. I lived there when Joe Royale was manager and their fan base was about 11,000 and back then the rugby team had a good side and decent support. It is sad to see them in their current plight and wish them all the best, boy do they need it.

I note the owner released a statement earlier this week, in his opening paragraph he accussed fans of racism for disliking him.
Called ex players and managers liars (including Paul Scholes) and dismissed claims that he's influencing picking the matchday squads....Theres dozens of first hand accounts this has been going on and prettt blatent evidence.
Blamed poor managerial and payer recruitment, I think his brother does the recruiting...and he's still employed.
Threatened to close the ground if fans continue to protest.
I only see one outcome and it's relegation for Oldham and probably from there liquidation.
They'll have to start from the bottom and work their way back up ala Stockport County, Halifax Town.

Will this prompt a review of the 'fit and proper person' rules?
Probably not, as it would mean a large percentage of clubs, inc. PL clubs, would be in breach of those rules overnight.
Modern football, corrupt as hell. Until the money go round and it's trajectory towards a far more business/leaching mode of operation starts to reverse, this will become all too common...

Oldham sound to have an absolute clown of an owner, but they were dying before that too. The rise and rise of Man U/Man C has decimated the other ‘Manchester’ clubs. Bury, Stockport and Oldham all likely to be in non league before long.
Shame Neville and his mates didn’t help one of them instead of his vanity project of taking what was essentially Liversedge to the football league.

They’ve announced only season ticket holders can go to their next two home games.

They’ve announced only season ticket holders can go to their next two home games. What a mess. Im obviously not bang up to scratch at events at Oldham but why is that, looking at it from here a club seemingly in finanacial turmoil turning away paying customers seems very odd indeed, is it that the owners are scared of protest, they do realise season ticket holders can protest too, its all a bit weird.

The owner must think the vast majority of the protesters are fans who are not season tickets holders. Unsure why he’s come to that conclusion though, as he hasn’t identified those who are involved in the protests. Bizarre.

They’ve just tweeted that fans can now pay on the gate away at Leyton Orient. So, it doesn’t matter anymore if you’re a ST holder! Shambles. Their fans are fuming in reply to that tweet, and rightly so.
