It's you that needs to grow up...you know very well most people don't like what you did, but have now got the monk on and thrown your dolls out of your pram.. Just get it fixed then we can go back to discussing football. Yeah, I'm the one who lost his toys... whereas you started slinging insults. Jog on pal. Surely you're intelligent enough to know that simply slagging me off isn't going to make me minded to kowtow to your demands? And, yet again, despite it being explained to those who might struggle with simple concepts that this was not me acting alone like some loose cannon, but the admin team working together, you single me out for vitriol and venom. (but I'm the "over bloated Admin full of his own self importance" when you've managed to make it all about me, I forgot that). A quick reminder about the rules - Any poster who persistently posts comments, criticisms, and/or complaints in existing threads will be taken as wumming/trolling in breach of the forum rules, and sanctions will be considered as appropriate.

Whilst I appreciate the effort to improve the site it is all a bit too in your face, particularly with the stripes on desktop, it just doesn't sit well at all. Simplicity usually works best but if we want to try and incorporate some stripes then I'd utilise the banner space more and have them fade down into a plainer background. I'd also knock the opacity back a bit so they aren't quite as harsh on the eye too. I'd also suggest putting some contrast back into the layout with some darker coloured bars to highlight the menu etc. For mobile it's just far too white. Just my suggestion but I'd aim for something more like this: DATM-Theme.png

Wow, wow, wow.
Only just seen this on a desktop and all I can say is it's complete dogs dinner.
It is poor on mobile but this is completely another level. I honestly thought my computer had crashed.

Post from Graeme on this thread on November 19th: “Thanks for the feedback - I'll leave it up over the weekend, see what folks say, and revisit it on Monday”. With that post in mind, and the overall feedback since then, I would also like to know what he’s waiting for before reverting back.

It does seem odd why it's still not been changed back for a week now.
I've yet to see a positive reaction to the changes.
I'd go along with the argument that the Admins have been busy earning a living all week but they've been quite active in posting... Weird.

I'll add that it's pretty funny that Mel's site looks way better than this shower of shite. Mel has admitted he doesn't really know what he's doing - he managed to accidently delete half of the posts on the other forum Are the DATM admins fit for purpose?

I have to use the desktop because it is much easier to import the Prediction League and Championship Standings spreadsheets onto this site. The brightness, font colours and stripes make it even more of a chore than usual.

Nah, sorry Detox. Most people? 344 Members, 2,462 Guests in the last 24 hours. How many people have said they don't like it vs how many people have said they do vs how many people have said.. Nothing? In my experience of change management, if an change is made and no one says anything, then it's gone ok. Constructive feedback was welcomed and some action was taken as a result - but not all feedback was constructive was it? IMO. The tone of some posts on this thread has such a great sense of either catastrophe or entitlement around it I don't blame G for giving you it back personally. You should all be thanking him really, I wanted him to give us all a lovely a pink theme. Interested to know what technical issues you are having with it Canuck, if you can be specific? Sadly I'm not as well versed at this stuff, don't have the time nor inclination now (given the reception) to learn either. So you'll have to wait until G has got either of the above to remedy any technical issue if it's caused one. Cheers.

Maybe a number of posters have not commented previously in the hope that common sense would prevail and the board might be returned to how it looked before. That seems increasingly unlikely as an increasingly autocratic BDG appears to be digging his heels in to show us who's cock of the board. As others have said it wasn't broken and it didn't need fixing.
Anyway for what it's worth I think the new theme is fucking shit.

I'd suggest asking 1 or 2 of them to come up with something which would be loads better than what 99% of us on here could come up with. The intentions were no doubt good ones but the execution wasn't great going by the reactions.

I think, at this point, any theme which doesn't require the reader to squint would be well received. Should you find the inclination, time won't be an issue: Just go to Admin/Themes/Theme Manager, hover over the name of the previous theme and click "Make Default". This one can easily be tinkered with in the background, visible only to the three of you.

Naturally if it's caused a technical issue for you we need to get underneath it. I don't understand the difference personally. The 3 white stripes aside. I don't think it actually looks massively different to what it did before. It did initially granted but stripes aside I think the difference is marginal now. Brightness issues I'm struggling to understand as whilst it looks like it's 'whiter' with the stripes I guess, I can do a side by side (Desktop) and it looks EXACTLY the same as the Google News 'white' that is used in the posts box. So I don't understand the eyes hurting etc. Plus, we do have some folk on here saying it's ok so I don't think this is just admin bias! Original train of thought was only to give it a lift / lick of paint. Nothing sinister. I personally can see the stripes as just being 'less blue' and once my eyes adjusted it makes no difference to me. And if this place needs anything, it is to be 'less blue' ... If anyone can elaborate without a 'it's fucking shit' it may be useful, otherwise.......

I don't normally get drawn in, life's too short, but actually Rigodon, the opening stats you trot out are meaningless. Grim asked for opinions, said it wasn't set in stone, and in fact said over a week ago he would re-visit after the week-end with a view to reverting to as was. Since he asked for member's views, I may be mistaken but don't think I am, the majority who have commented on here (so let's accept this is the only vehicle for providing input to Grim) have expressed a resounding NO to the new style. Go back and look, it's all there on this thread. All members and guests I suppose have had the opportunity to speak out, but the majority have chosen not to.....but those that have I repeat don't like it, don't want it. That is democracy, you get a vote, if you choose not to use it, or vote in a complete buffoon to run the country (for example), then no use crying after the event. As I say, more important stuff to worry about, like bagging 3 points later this aft, but if he isn't going to take notice of the opinions as he said he would, why bother asking in the first place?

I've been meaning to reply all week but not got round to it.. The way it looks on the PC is, to be frank, awful. The positioning of the menu bar, in white, going across the blue and white vertical stripes about 2/3 of the way down makes it more difficult to read and interact with than it was before, and is a "distinctly unpleasant user experience". It just doesn't work. If the menu bar could be moved below the banner then this might improve things but as it stands it isn't great. I hasten to add I haven't looked at it since Thursday so this comment might well be out of date

It genuinely does give your eyes a working. Eg at the top (when I finally get the images working)

Not looked at the analytics as my point was if the 344 (plus larger number of guest users) logged on viewing the site did so and didn't have sufficient cause for concern to post then I take that as a win. Personally speaking, without getting my sigmoid curve out, I regularly deliver change to 1500+ people professionally and in my experience there's always naysayers and few compliments. If we had more significant numbers and or a host of technical issues I'd be more interested. I'm sure you'll appreciate change will always piss someone off regardless but appreciate you recognising that the intention was good. As for being impacted, a sense of proportion was also lost on this thread as it descended into another personal sniping match. As per usual. I've no time for that anymore. IMO, he's only tweaked the banner and put some stripes on. Like I say, constructive feedback hasn't been the order of the day on this thread and when some has been received he's actioned it which has been acknowledged.

Cheers. I don't normally get drawn in, life's too short, but actually Rigodon, the opening stats you trot out are meaningless. Grim asked for opinions, said it wasn't set in stone, and in fact said over a week ago he would re-visit after the week-end with a view to reverting to as was.Since he asked for member's views, I may be mistaken but don't think I am, the majority who have commented on here (so let's accept this is the only vehicle for providing input to Grim) the overwhelming majority have expressed a resounding NO to the new style. Go back and look, it's all their on this thread. Appreciate the sentiment bud. However. He did revisit it, hence the changes which have since been acknowledged. He never said he would revert it. Like I say, I'll take silent majority over personal remarks and pointless feedback. Do you recall the reaction last time it changed?

I think, at this point, any theme which doesn't require the reader to squint would be well received. Should you find the inclination, time won't be an issue: Just go to Admin/Themes/Theme Manager, hover over the name of the previous theme and click "Make Default". This one can easily be tinkered with in the background, visible only to the three of you. Thanks for this bud, could come in useful.
