Thank you for the responses from the admin. As you state there were mitigating circumstances and you accept communication from the admins could be better. There’s nothing that’ll change your minds so I’ll leave it at that.
As above, it has turned into a petty slanging match like it usually does. Seems the same couple of posters like Ted go on the other board, get wound up, then return to complain on here. Go and challenge the views on Mel’s board if you’re so bothered about opposing views to your own. It’s an obsession both ways.
And yes I have seen some posts on there from Enoch (who I understand used to be on here but got banned, no surprise!).

I’m not very political, but I looked at the politics forum often enough to know about the various threads and recognise the main protagonists on there and to follow their spats, without feeling the need to get involved myself. The homophobic bullying of the poster known as 'Hukkas' was absolutely despicable. I hope people remember that. It was really fucking nasty - had to restrain myself from posting ban-worthy abuse at the perpetrators. So I hope people can appreciate that that was really fucking bad, and that it's horrible to be on the receiving end of such hate-filled bile from strangers on the internet because of who you are.

There are some posters on here I choose never to reply to or get involved in any “discussion” with them, not because I’ve had any previous direct interaction with them that turned nasty, but because I’ve observed how they communicate with others and act on here to make me realise it just isn’t worth it. |

Do you think comedy promoters seriously say "I wasn't going to book you, but I saw that you banned a rancid old homophobe on a Huddersfield Town forum, my venue in Liverpool will really dig that, have a gig"? Jesus, I even heard that over on the other forum it is gospel that the decision to remove the sub-board was mine, and mine alone, and was made because I'm sanitising my social media history for impending TV fame. That was funnier than any joke I have ever written or could ever write. Do I like to be in charge? Not especially. It's often more hassle than it's worth. When you receive messages from former admins asking why you still do it, it gives you pause, for sure. But I genuinely believe we administer the site selflessly and with the best of intentions. Always. Do we always get it right? Of course not. Nobody does, can or would. I miss the politics board. Genuinely. But I still think we did the right thing. If you want to discuss politics, we're not stopping you - plenty of places to do it. But you wouldn't expect to discuss politics on a cricket forum, or a Strictly Come Dancing fans forum, or any comparable site. If it were likely we could bring it back without the same shit show happening as before I'd push for us to do it in a heartbeat. I was getting grief for the Big Daddy G name I was using. This was a Nickname I was given at Uni over 20 years ago as I dressed as a wrestler at a fancy dress party and it stuck, but some of the more unhinged posters thought the name was chosen by me to reflect some self-perception I had about my status here. Totally untrue. 2. My other social media presences are currently as Gag N Bone Man, so it made sense to tie these up together Similarly, some people stated that my previous profile pic was (and I'm paraphrasing) too in your face and seemingly aggressive. I just thought it was a nice pic. I changed it to the current one because I love the pic. Nothing else. And I genuinely can't believe I'm having to justify it. The tin foil hattery knows no bounds. I guarantee you two things about the Comedy industry. 1. They don't give a flying fuck about this forum and probably haven't heard of it. There are, as far as I know, only two pro comics who are Town fans, three semi pro and a handful of total amateurs. 2. I'm already doing nicely enough without thinking "let me try and leverage DATM to get gigs".
