Don't be ridiculous. I changed my name for two reasons. 1. I was getting grief for the Big Daddy G name I was using. This was a Nickname I was given at Uni over 20 years ago as I dressed as a wrestler at a fancy dress party and it stuck, but some of the more unhinged posters thought the name was chosen by me to reflect some self-perception I had about my status here. Totally untrue. 2. My other social media presences are currently as Gag N Bone Man, so it made sense to tie these up together Similarly, some people stated that my previous profile pic was (and I'm paraphrasing) too in your face and seemingly aggressive. I just thought it was a nice pic. I changed it to the current one because I love the pic. Nothing else. And I genuinely can't believe I'm having to justify it. The tin foil hattery knows no bounds. I guarantee you two things about the Comedy industry. 1. They don't give a flying fuck about this forum and probably haven't heard of it. There are, as far as I know, only two pro comics who are Town fans, three semi pro and a handful of total amateurs. 2. I'm already doing nicely enough without thinking "let me try and leverage DATM to get gigs". I turn down more work than I take and am regularly fully booked up, given the limited amount of time I have for comedy. The first two paragraphs explained it very well,quite a nice story tbf,and I didnt think your picture was bad or aggressive,,,but then you have to spoil it by picking up your microphone and start hurling insults about me wearing a tin foil hat. You called me a media where, digz. Suggest you reign the insults in yourself. |

There are some posts I feel ready to rock an argument over but then it just isn’t worth it, as you say Walton-on-the-Hill Terrier, it gets personal and it’s not pleasant to watch let alone receive the abuse I’m sure. It’s quite sad to see this thread go off the rails a little. I totally understand the arguments for the politics thread coming back but and as someone said earlier, if it was handled differently from the off with firm punishments then maybe it could have survived. It just seems sad that at some stage, every thread descends into a cesspit when folk clash behind their keyboards, when in person they may argue but actually calm down fast and move on over a pint. |

Im assuming that because people are having the temerity not to universally agree with each other then this thread will have to be anchored , banned or whatever else happens to threads on this board these days?

An admin has answered a number of points that rightly needed to be raised, by belinko and muito, but since then I see that this is yet another thread that has descended into petty argument and in danger of being derailed. No surprise in seeing who the protagonists are. Skylarking - what is your problem? It’s blatantly obvious you’re Hukkas resurrected, yet you can’t resist getting into an argument. How long before you flounce off again? El Mel - do us a favour and just stick to your own forum. Quick question. How aware - if at all - are you of some of the vitriol and highly personal abuse - along with the publication of home addresses and thinly-veiled threats of violence, from the "other" forum towards a select few individuals on this one? Nobody has published anyones home address on that other forum, if you’re referring to me 🤷♂️ A users address was as far away in clicks from the post over there as it is from EVERY post they stuck on here with the advert in the sig before it was recently updated to a more noble cause. |
