I think we’ll be playing the officials as well. Big money wants Forest in the PL and will be putting pressure on the ref to ensure it. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a Town player sent off or another dodgy penalty awarded against us.

They've done well under Cooper. A few wobbles in recent weeks though. They are for the taking! It's too hard to call this one, it could go either way. I have a sneaky feeling that Forest will beat us, but it will be a decent game. Heart says Town obviously. To see town go to the PL, not once, but twice...especially in a fairly short space of time... heffin dream! Forest can win games with minimal possession, so Town relying on this to stifle them isn't going to work, we need a plan. A recent game v Swansea saw 30% possession for Forest but they won 5-1, and could/should have been a lot more. Their power is pace, penitration and people who can shoot on target. Our back line will be tested, as will our wide midfield players. Swansea played 4 at the back and 2 sat in front , with 3 across midfield..it didn't help them.
Whether Cooper will play the same way, or become a bit more reserved in the final..don't know but if Town think a defensive ring across our box will work well they can hammer them in from 20 yards out too.
I'm no master tactician and like you think it's hard to call but we have to be 100% on our game ..Carlos and his team will be running through the possible permutations this week. I think our left flank is the strongest with Toffs, O'Brien and Thomas, central midfield I'm still not sure on Russell or Antorin...Sinani seems to have perked up and of course there's Hogg. Our right flank though..Turton or Pipa ? Holmes...
Ultimately it may be we have most possession, play lots of good inter-passing football but Forest punish us for wayward passing and sting us on the break... I hope not obviously, and I hope Forest have an off day...and that the ref calls out the gamesmanship Forest are quite good at too.

A sending off would be Towns' first this season, and would ruin the game as a spectacle for the viewers on Sky.

Craig Burley doesn’t know how Huddersfield will handle the nerves.
And Stewart Robson (who he?) says Forest are a better team than Huddersfield.
Come on Town let’s prove these pundits wrong AGAIN.

I’m hoping it finishes 2-2.
As in the number of victories per team, across league & cup games this season….

I had a quick look on their match day thread a couple of days ago. Aside from the usual idiot or two (we have equivalents on here), I don’t think too many are taking it for granted.
Maybe other social media outlets are different, but I don’t do fb or twitter etc.
I think most even handed supporters of both sides are thinking the same. A tight game, nerves in the stands at a peak. I wonder if they’re going to do that heart monitor thing they did last time?

There was one guy slagging us for selling out the home playoff leg. I'm sure he'd have said plenty if only the usual 12000 turned up. You can't have it both ways.

The media have been blowing smoke up their arse for weeks now. Just have a look at how politics works, and how the lemmings follow what the media tell them. Those sort of Forest fans will have been hooked in so easily to thinking this is a shoe-in for them.
Unlike politics though, the media can’t influence what goes on during the 90 mins of a football game.
UTT!!!

Quite possibly cos I saw another that said they didn't need Town fans there, they could fill Wembley themselves 🙄

Really don’t care if the media do focus all their energies on Forest before the game, it will make the rapid reverse pedalling really interesting to watch if we win and they have to come up with a narrative to explain why we have exceeded expectations.

Was listening to the BetFair guy on Talksport today and it seems we are the biggest outsiders to win a Play Off final for 10 years. I assume this is based upon:
We finished higher in the table. We got more points. We have got more points since Christmas. We have far better form over the last 6/8 games.
Now I know why I stopped betting!!

I think we play, playoff football. We can do exactly the same things we have been doing all season long in the final.
I'm almost dreading the result, as we can only look forward to a turgid Premier league season as reward for winning this game. 2-0 town and that's without any rose tinted glasses.
Hopefully the money is spent more wisely this time, and if we lose I'll look forward to championship football next season
I have a feeling its a bigger game for forest's future than ours and the pressure is going to be huge on them.

Ben Bloom’s take on Sunday’s game... In fairness he's got that spot on. watched that yesterday. I'm not sure he has. We know we can play backs to the wall football, but we can also (as shown at Fulham) actually play football. I'm not sure he gives us any credit for that, just gives us a chance from 'set pieces'. He was right about Luton though, they were the best side second leg no doubt.

I can take losing as long as we have a go. A negative set-up could see the game gone in 30 mins.
Into 'em early Town

The selections of Turton or Pipa, Colwill or Sarr, Thomas or Holmes and Ward or Rhodes will probably decide how we set up. I suspect Carlos will select the first names I've shown if possible. Ward & Thomas would allow us to attack quicker, without them from the start we will have to be much more compact.

If we sit back and try and counter then we'll lose. Can't afford to rely on backs to the wall defending and taking a chance.

Into 'em early Town I don't think there's many games this season where we could be accused of having a negative setup. Pragmatic, definitely....but not negative. I don't know how is going to be best to approach the game on Sunday but evidence shows that Carlos and his team get it right more often than not.

Carlos'tactics have propelled us from estimated relegation to wembley. So maybe trust in the boss. And if it doesn't work out then its still been a miracle season
