Linked heavily now with a return, I trust the transfer committee implicitly after last season but went onto the Cheltenham forum to expect to see them upset about him leaving but it's the polar opposite!
"Bizarre. Although, it our biggest liability last season and slowest and least mobile player is wanted by the team who came third in the Championship, maybe we could compete at that level after all."
"Good luck to him if it all works out. Personally, my heart sank every time the ball was played to him along the back line."
"Sorry, can't find the link but apparently Stockport county are interested....."
"Dont think Will is up to that standard but wish him all the best"

So do we trust the Cheltenham fans in January or May ?
Or maybe trust our scouting network ?

You'd think after the recruitment success last season, people on here would just let Bromby get on with it. But no, DATM knows best.

If the young city player is James mcatee then it’d be a very very good signing

Weren't MK Dons fans saying this when we signed Lee Nicholls?

Weren't MK Dons fans saying this when we signed Lee Nicholls? The MK Dons fans I saw were universally very complimentary about Nicholls. Overwhelming opinion was that they were blessed with two excellent keepers for that division, and the worst comment I saw was that he was plenty good enough to be backup keeper in the Championship - which at the time could still have made him a good signing.

With Colwill and Sarr almost certainly leaving, we are going to need a left sided centre back. He has links to - and affection for - the club and the area, and appears to have a good attitude.
My only doubt is whether he's talented enough (or has the potential to develop into someone talented enough) for what we need. Unfortunately that's quite an important factor.
I've never been so underwhelmed by a centre back signing since, erm, Tom Lees.

He's 6 foot 3, left footed, scores goals and was club captain in a mid table League One side and available on a free transfer. He'd be a low risk signing, especially with his history with our club. He would improve in terms of fitness and speed with the help of the fitness and nutrition staff, as Pearson and Lees have done.
He'd be a sensible replacement for Sarr in the squad,it would be up to him to force himself into the team.

Better & more experienced than Critchlow. Whether he'd be first choice or a squad player remains to be seen.

Haven’t seen him but would probably win the least inspiring signing of the century award.

When are people going to cement it in their heads that he didnt want to renew a contract, so for the latter part of the season they played someone else.

Yes, he was first choice for some of his time at MK Dons but the guy was there for 5 years! In his final season there he scarcely played at all other than FA Cup, League Cup and Checkatrade Trophy fixtures. However the central point I was making was that just because a signing seems uninspiring doesn't mean it's a bad one.
