Interesting.
Would I be right in thinking that Marsh was a significant part of the recruitment team in the Prem when we really messed up (particularly that second season), but more recently was our head of player recruitment overseeing the last couple of successful windows? Not quite sure who does what at Town.
In any case, perhaps this is less of a blow than if it was Bromby leaving. I'm confident that Bromby's role is more about his connections and overseeing recruitment, whereas Marsh was likely tasked with data based player identification. Fingers crossed we've got a superb player recruitment manager lined up.

Does this mean all our summer targets will now be Swansea's summer targets?

Not bothered about this but all the best to him. This guy seems to have been around a long time with no one actually knowing what it is he does. You would have to assume he has had at least some input in some of the worst recruitment decisions this club has made.

I thought Bromby suggested targets Seemingly responsible for Diakhaby, Sabiri, Sobhi and Pritchard but not for Mooy, Toffolo, Nicholls and Lees Didn’t Man City come to us about Mooy and the Cowley’s were surely the ones behind Toff… Nicholls mentioned something about having a massive chat with Clements as well before he signed

So yeah, good luck in your future endeavours Mr Marsh 👍🏼

Good luck to him and I hope it goes well for him, but not that well that they finish above us 😉🤣. However, that seems quite a big jump from Head of Recruitment to HoFO of a similar sized club.

If we recruit badly this summer (or probably more accurately from next January as this summer's targets shoould be largely identified), the conclusion will be that Marsh was the brains of the operation!

Not saying he is solely responsible, but our player recruitment has overall been good in his time here.
Nor can he solely responsible for the bad ones. It's a complete bollocks narrative.
My understanding is it was agents pulling the wool over our eyes in the second prem season that was the problem. Of course he will have to shoulder some of the blame, but he has never been top of the tree. It's impossible to say how hard he pushed for or against the likes of mbenza and diakhaby. For all we know (and very likely) he had much better ones on a list of many - we went with those two. The type of signings him and his team were likely hired for (to find cheap, young talents) we have done very well.
Good luck to him. Crazy how much stick he's had considering the last 5-6 years have been our most successful in.. a long time. If i was to judge a young lad of his age i'd prefer (if we must) to judge him on this seasons recruitment, rather than the prem seasons. If he shoulders as much responsibilty for the prem season as people make out, he should also take great plaudits for this/last seasons recruitment...and at such a young age, based on that yard stick, i'd give him the benefit of the doubt that he's learning well.

If he was Winters pick, then I'm not sure what to make of it, he must know he is good, but then I'm not sure generally winter was a great judge of anything.
