Itβs the hope that kills!
Look here every day in the hope weβve pulled off a coup .
Maybe Iβm a dreamer, but not the only one?

Harratt and Crichlow have both signed on loan for Bradford. That's a Chicken Coup!

I feel we are going to follow the same model as last summer.
Can it work twice? We will see.
But we over achieved last season, realistically we are a mid table team. I am sure we can all agree. I dont mean to sound negative.
Aslong as we perform well, entertain, and are not looking over our shoulders then I am happy with that.

Last year we were shipping out the last of the players with lousy attitudes, we no longer have any. This time last year we'd signed 5 players. We've signed one. I'd agree that we were a lower mid table side that had a Premier League goalkeeper and outstanding finishing. Can that be repeated? Maybe, but we need to address last season's areas of weakness whilst trying to maintain the strengths.

With kick off only 5 weeks away it would be nice to see some first team additions need a good pre season bonding.

My expectations is Recruitment are gonna be pushed to repeat their success with not having a budget remotely in-line with a top half Championship club.
Not a moan, just where my expectation is.

To be fair, they don't really need to repeat the same success in terms of numbers, unless players leave. The three loan players (one who hardly played) and the barely used Eiting and Campbell are the ones who've officially left and not really been replaced. If/once Pipa's transfer is official, then I think we need someone who can cover Turton as a right back - we have a few who could play/cover right wing back. I'm intrigued to see where REG will fit into the squad/team as I can't see him going back out on loan.

Our wage bill is already bottom 6 and still getting lower. With the revenue from this season and no signings of any note on the horizon it seems that Dean is no longer willing to invest

Right back isn't a concern for me, rather a number 10 and LCB that is comfortable in possession are. I'd ideally like to see a new first choice CF, as much as Ward exceeded expectations and even an alternative to Hogg (not necessarily to immediately replace him) who is more comfortable in possession. Hogg's a legend, but when in possession and the play isn't in front of him he's not great.

I was making the point that the number of additions required is much lower than last season, assuming no-one has a Koroma level drop-off in form. So hopefully fewer to get wrong π€

Think midfield and left wing is where we need to strengthen. I have a feeling we have some money to spend but want to spend it on players we can develop. Feeling confident we will be in a better place than last season come the close of the window.

With the revenue from this season and no signings of any note on the horizon it seems that Dean is no longer willing to invest If that is the case then why exactly would he still want to hang on to it. Miss out in the playoff final, sell 16,000 season tickets and deplete the squad even further. If that is how it turns out, will only see this club going one way and that is not up. Letβs hope we are going to get the signings that we require to improve on last season, otherwise Carlos could be the next to go!

It is going to be hard to replicate last season on our budget but I guess the fans do want to see a repeat or at least maintaining last season and going one step better, which is a big ask. Last season probably repaired a lot of the damage with the fans and given we've sold 16k season tickets, ok some will have bought 'just in case' but if its a flop, we certainly won't be selling another 16k any time soon. See who comes in, plenty of time I guess. We'd all like the club to push the boat out but not sure that's the clubs intention.

It would be good for Dean to come out and say what his expectations are of next season. We as fans have stumped up the hard earned brass for the season tickets and so far we have seen lots of outgoings and Will Boyle coming in. The way he is being marketed it's like he is the second coming.
I struggle to trust Hoyle now to be honest.

We have to live in hope and see what comes to pass and then cheer or some other form of response.
