Hef being coached for Manager when Danny goes ? I mentioned on another thread succession planning. It wouldn't surprise me as it seems our policy now. Makes sense although rules out all the endless speculation when a head coach leaves!!

Birmingham fans seem delighted, sounds about right cheap option nobody wants. I've not seen any comments either way from Brum fans, but a youth coach at a club responsible for the Bellingham brothers doesn't sound too awful.

I think its clear those two were destined for a big future wherever they were.

I'd also say that it's never clear whether a promising kid is going to fulfil their potential.

Could be a number of things: 1. A change of heart from the Hef. 2. Bromby was a coach prior to his upward moves with Town, so maybe there’s been conversations about that, as in, ‘this experience will help you longer-term’. 3. Hef coaching might be extracting added value from his role and salary for the club. Heff has been doing his badges and coaching was always his plan.

Means little for the coaching at Birmingham - which I think for the last 10 years has been substandard.

How do you even know the coaching at Birmingham has been sub standard? Are you seriously suggesting you can judge the fella?

Always found it odd when fans claim to know how good coaches are. 99.9% of them will have never watched a training session, so will have nothing to base any of their beliefs either way on. You can judge a manager’s ability based on what you see on the field during games, but I don’t truly believe anyone not involved in football knows how good or bad coaches are.

You also don't know what autonomy the coach is given at a club (do what the manager tells you or do whatever you want to improve XYZ), what sort of characters they have in the team etc. And we should know as well that sometimes it doesn't work out at one club but can work brilliantly at another club - can be the same for coaches as well as players and managers.
