Since the EFL can't do anything right, game will just be rearranged and Coventry told to sort the pitch out

Why don't they know? What can change between now and Saturday? Surely they can make a decision one way or the other?

Why don't they know? What can change between now and Saturday? Surely they can make a decision one way or the other? Well, there have been storms predicted by some outlets. Maybe they're hoping this will help the pitch be ready, because we all know it'll only take a couple of days to sort

Maybe they're hoping this will help the pitch be ready, because we all know it'll only take a couple of days to sort Clearly climate change might end the world before next Saturday, so working on the principle nobody will be alive its pointless calling games off??? Ask Gretas opinion?? Her balanced and optimistic musings might help the EFL make a decision? Hide, it wont affect the game being on or off but you will feel safer? Failing all the above maybe the EFL tell Coventry to either get it sorted or play away from home, covering the costs. You know, common fucking sense.

Game can be played at our place saturday.
Leeds and Bradford are away.
Coventry sort out their season card holders and sponsors and cover Towns cost for staging the match?
At NO point is this Towns fault.

Maybe they should get John Moss to do a pitch inspection, he can turn his blind eye to any problems.

4 days away from kick off & still no decision?
What an absolute joke!
1)Will the pitch be playable in 4 days? Yes/No
2)Do you have an alternative venue arranged if the answer to q1 is no? Yes/no
If the answer is no to both questions 3 weeks into the season then they should be fined and/or points deduction.

EFL go to lowest common denominator and least griefy decision.

What should happen, but won't as it makes the competition unfair, is that every game that doesn't take place should be awarded 3-0 to the away team.
If the EFL had any balls, Coventry should now be removed from the Championship and relegated to League One for next season (assuming they dont fold) as they haven't provided a suitable pitch to play their games on.

At NO point is this Towns fault. If this was to happen would it be a home or away match for town. I can't make this Saturday so if it was a home game I would expect reimbursement of some of my season ticket.

In the unlikely scenario that Town couldnt play because playing rugby had deemed the pitch unworthy and town were relegated, then im certain we'd all agree with the decision wholeheartedly.

What is going on? I’m not really bothered who’s fault the pitch is and have no wish for Coventry to be punished.
I just want to know what i’m doing on Saturday. Most people have jobs, Sky pissing about with fixtures a month in advance is bad enough but this is 4 days away and we have no idea what is happening.

You’re saying that asif the pitch was damaged by wasps last weekend. They’ve known about this for weeks and have chosen to do nothing about it. Tenants or not this is totally unacceptable and they should forfeit the points.

Coventry were told well in advance what was happening on the pitch and what was likely to happen to it. However they decided to totally ignore everything they were told and have ended up with no pitch to play on. They had the option to inform the EFL what was likely to happen before the fixtures were set and they did nothing. We already inform the EFL when we need to be away from home if the Giants are playing and the Giants keep off the pitch for a period to allow for work to be done. If an one-off unexpected event happens then you have to work around it, but the Commonwealth Games aren't unexpected or unplanned!

Ok fair enough answer, i do think relegation would be extreme though, especially on a club who have experienced difficult times in recent years, their future was undecided for quite a while.

We’re not relegating them. They should be paying for this heavily though. It’s a farce. The Rotherham game was cancelled the day before. We’re almost Wednesday with nothing said. Supporters pay hard earned money for travel and accommodation and yet are treated like shite as per usual. The c**** at sky are bad enough.

Coventry are currently getting unwarranted sympathy regarding this situation - completely unwarranted. Whether any football club owns their ground, rents a ground, ground shares with another club etc. It's all irrelevant! It is the responsibility of a professional football club (particularly one playing in the 2nd tier) to ensure they can provide a playing surface that is fit for purpose and can fulfil their fixtures. You can forgive things like cancellations for extreme weather or vandalism. But this is bullshit. They deserve some kind of sanction.

Coventry did the equivalent of sticking their fingers in their ears and shouting "la, la, la we're not listening" when they were told the pitch was going to be unfit to play on at the start of the season. They could have played away from home for 6 or 8 weeks or actively found somewhere else to play this season, but decided to do bugger all. They should lose the points on the games that aren't able to be played, but that utterly devalues the competition.

SISU Capital, the Otium Entertainment Group (sic), CC Holdings, Sky Blue Sports etc & et al, seem to have a capacity for not being able to work cooperatively with other organisations, cf the attempt to gain control of the Ricoh which was thrown out after a protracted legal process. If they told me the day of the week, I would check....
