Been a while since a new manager bounce haha. DS - Defeat V Burnley CC - Defeat V Norwich DC - Defeat V Sheff Wed JS - Defeat V Everton DW - Defeat V Boro CP - can't remember MR - Defeat FA Cup v Wigan (I think) Question is... when was the last win for a manager in his 1st game. Unsure on Grayson and Clark. Hope that kills you We must be due to the new manager bounce.

As long as its an entertaining game of football, one that thrills the crowd with none of this 'hoofball' stuff then i dont really care about the score...i mean who wouldn't rather have 3-3 draw than a dour 1-0 win. What a ridiculous post. It's not an either/or situation. It is possible to play entertaining football that is also effective and winning football. Likewise, dour football doesn't guarantee a 1-0 win. I was being ironic, my point being when you're in a bit of pickle like we are then results are priority over style and good football.

Don't care how we play but we desperately need the 3 points.
Result Saturday would be huge.
If it goes wrong then we could be 8 points cut adrift.

Cardiff always tricky. A point would be good.
Start to build a platform.

Letās get to the ground in numbers and give Narcis a fighting chance.
At least the club are being pro active at last in solving the problem.
Massive game tomorrow.

There are certain teams I hate playing because we always seem to struggle against them. Cardiff are one of those.
That said, Cardiff are no great shakes in Championship terms so, if we can up our performance and put players in their natural positions, there no reason why we can't beat them.
It's going to be tight, but I'm hoping for a single goal win.

Be very interesting so see what he changes, what were his ideas and what were Dannyās. eg Sorba on the left? Does he like Ward or Rhodes or both?

Bring the clappers back as well. I'm currently on my phone, which doesn't have a "dislike" feature, but I'm almost tempted to go upstairs and switch on my broken computer just to give that post a thumbs down.

New manager bounce (well players playing to impress a new manager) 3-0 Town Been a while since a new manager bounce haha. Unsure on Grayson and Clark. Has been rockwall - but weāve had plenty new manager bounces against us... think it was the season before Covid - I was thinking do the opposition chairmen deliberately sack their managers a week and a half before Town come calling... and nine times out of ten teams that had been in the doldrums for months would suddenly get a result v HTAFC... Hopefully it works big time in our favour tomorrow - itāll be intriguing to see how this one pans out indeed !

I would start Mahoney today, that lad has shown that he has that spark and Cardiff probably are thinking Thomas Holmes Jones might be playing but Mahoney has a bit more fair which is perfect for today

Hoping for some sort of result today. Judging by narcisā press conference(who spoke very well by the way) maybe Danny was trying to implement too much too soon.Narcis seemed to speak a lot about ultimately the basics, winning duels, winning second balls and cutting out mistakes. Would imagine doesnāt change too much personnel wise and donāt think the formation matters too much as long as can defend in the 5-4-1 the players seem to like. Be surprised if it was the most entertaining game in the world but think the aim will be to show the fans they are up for the fight.

Iām just hoping that come 5āo clock this board has more hope. That Bromby is right and that we have a talented squad.
It will be interesting to see the team.
Come on town letās get this season started.

It's painfully slow and then crashes, but if I'm willing to wait an hour or so I might get to give that thumbs down that the post so richly deserves. But I can't be arsed.

My gut feeling is that this will be a painfully dull, attritional game but one which we will come out on the right side of.
1-0 town.
Disclaimer: My gut feeling is rarely an accurate barometer of what actually happens, so now that I've typed that I'm half expecting it to be an end to end game that we lose 5-4.

Narcis needs only to steady the ship and put out a competitive performance. There's no reason or need to try and implement any complex ideas for this one off game as whoever gets the gig will have their own ideas. I couldn't for the life of me work out what the plan was this season, and I question whether the players could. But then, 18 months ago I couldn't get my head around what Carlos was trying to do either.

I couldn't for the life of me work out what the plan was this season, and I question whether the players could. But then, 18 months ago I couldn't get my head around what Carlos was trying to do either. I think Carlos changed his ideas fairly drastically from first to second season,he realised he didnāt have nor would he ever the players to play the style of football he was after.Chose to sit and play compact and essentially beat teams on the break or with set pieces. DS may have faired better if he hadnāt tried to change it completely from what worked last season.Trying to press high in a 4-4-2 out of possession whilst playing some 4-2-3-1 cross 4-1-4-1 in possession in the early games off very limited time to implement such a change basically got him off to the worst possible start and then by time he changed back(somewhat out of necessity due to certain injuries)I think a fair amount of the players had maybe already made their mind up on him.Not that thatās to say if he had stuck to Carlosā principles it would have worked but it definitely didnāt help. Like you say back to basics is the only way really for any caretaker managers.Just play players in their positions and get them to do the basics.
