You can’t compare watching a game live on TV with actually going to a game. I’d never, ever choose to watch a game on TV simply because it was cold, wet and windy at the game itself. I’d 100% choose watching Rochdale v Grimsby live over watching Town v Manchester City in the FA Cup final from the comfort of my living room.
Going to a game is far more than just watching the football. You can’t say that about watching a game from the sofa in your lounge.
I’ve always kept a record of every game I’ve personally attended. It was an event I went to and witnessed. I also witnessed England winning the World Cup live on a little black and white TV in Birstall in 1966. Should I have added that to my record of games I’d seen?
I don’t think so.

Is this an acknowledgement that practically nobody wants to watch 'the likes of' Town v Hull, except fans of the two clubs.
Therefore, for the TV companies to get any value at all (from the UK's football watching public interested in watching football from outside of the Premier League), then they need access to ALL games?
ie - its potentially a desperate last grab by the EFL, with them seeing the value of their product shrinking with every passing season?

Although I much prefer attending in person for the overrall experience, its a fact that I saw more games when ifollow was available for both home and away to SC holders for no further charge during playing behind closed doors. Saw more games than I had for many seasons before and certainly more than any season since.

Being in the ground live is the best feeling. But living in the north east that doesn’t happen enough.
If the clubs make decent money out of it, then great.
If they aren’t then don’t do it.
I guess then though you will have players agents banging on about “image rights”…
End of the day the Bosman ruling is killing football clubs. The players have all the power. The clubs gamble year on year.

Personally I always feel the crowd is sparser and the atmosphere flatter when we’re on TV, so this instinctively doesn’t feel like a good idea.
But is there a chance that people who never attend games but like football might start following town if it was easier to watch online and then ultimately be tempted down to the ground? Maybe.

Each to their own, but I really hope one day you (& I) get the opportunity to make that choice and I very much doubt you'd be at Spotland. I hope I'd be at Wembley (but who knows if DH decides who gets the tickets) but I certainly wouldn't be near Rochdale.
