That might be one of the worst attempts at being a footballing side I've ever seen from Preston. Passing it around for an age before cocking up a simple forward pass. At least we have tried to get forward quickly.

So much momentum wasted as a club from this season to last. Shameful really. Fotheringham deserves time but it’s hard to show any sympathy with the mismanagement of the last few months.

Not overly bad from us…definitely seeing a bit more tenacity and bite from a few. Very annoying when Rhodes and ward press as a two and are cut open so easily. Need to hunt in packs or else it’s completely pointless.

Turton is way better than Yuta even on the wrong side for him. Never ever thought I would say that, but fair play to him.
Midfield 2 are millions miles away from Aaron mooy. They just drift then react. Never impose themselves.

We’ve had the odd break and not conceded too many chances so it’s an improvement. This is how we have to go until the end of the season, sit deep and play for the break/set pieces. The midfield is incredibly weak so I think we’ll have to put up with this style of football for a while.

I don't think we're playing badly at all, but it's a painfully dull game. It might have livened up had Ward not missed that great chance early on, but as it stands it's a snore fest.
Defences on top is a cliche but ffs this is the epitome of that.
Be good to see Ondo given a decent run out. Something a bit unpredictable to maybe surprise a quality defence.

Preston must be building their season on keeping as many clean sheets as they can and picking up points that way. They have so little ambition going forward. They make about 40 short passes then give it away without threatening. The only time they have been slightly adventurous was in the last minute of the first half, which isnt great when you are playing a team who are 23rd in the league. I mean I would rather have Preston's points tally obviously, but if this is how they play then they must hand out pillows and duvets to the fans at games.
Other than a couple of decent crosses which have created our main chances, we have done very little to say we actually came out for the first 5 minutes and looked decent. Since that stupid tackle from Kasuma we then played into Preston's hands a bit and it all slowed down.
If we are going to press them we really do have to do it as a team, because so many times in that half you saw Ward and Rhodes trying to press against 3 defenders, but it doesnt work unless you have the midfielders pressing too. Need to be a lot sharper in the second half and start creating some decent opening on the floor, and not just rely on set pieces and crosses for our goals.

I think we’ve had a decent half there, created at least as much as we usually do against Preston.
So many seem desperate to see us fail at the moment.
