You can’t be serious with that comment, right? You’re taking the piss, yeah? Absolutely I am. If the ball was anywhere near Mounie's head then he was a fine forward, but he lacked the effort and commitment to get himself into the areas where he could score IMO. I found it really frustrating how many times we'd get in good positions out wide, put a decent cross in and Mounie would be slowly ambling into the area , practically marking their centre back rather than the other way round. Pritchard was very disappointing in what he gave us.. it wasnt anywhere close to the player I thought we'd signed.. but I dont remember thinking that he wasnt trying in any way. People cant seem to differentiate between being crap and not trying...its always been the same on here. Other than Lowe, who were these people who were putting decent crosses in? VLP wasn't one of them, hence we bought three wingers in during the summer of 2018 and we all know how that turned out. Mounie lacked pace and wasn't the sharpest in the box, put to say he didn't put the effort in is bollox. When you play one up front, the least that you should expect is that your wide men find their target more often than not and that was a big failure on our part. Pritchard might have run around a lot, but as soon as anybody went near him he invariably fell on his arse.

They'd have stood a better chance of finding a target if the target had worked hard to get himself into the area and even better tried to lose his marker if he had!!
Mounie was idle a lot of the time. I found him really frustrating because if the ball was anywhere near on his head, he was really dangerous. But too much of the time he didnt want it enough to put that bit of extra movement in.

I know a lot didn’t like VLP. But I honestly thought first season he was good. Worked really hard and we spent a fortune trying to replace him but didn’t manage to.

Is this a Slapps parody account? I think Slapps might just be the "Awkward Sean" of DATM You think he lives in Haverford-east ?

I didnt mind VLP. Had his faults but was an exciting player to watch I thought. Always thought he was about to do something either really bad or really good!
Looked him up.. plying his trade in the dutch 2nd tier at the moment for Almere City FC in front of about 2000 crowds most games.

Absolute nonsense. You do seem to have an abundance of bad takes, but this one is rather special — in how far from the truth it rests. Well done in thinking your take is the 'truth' ! So, Fotheringham is a relation on your Dads side, Pilchard is a second cousin once removed on your Mums side, and you are not related whatsoever to Big Steve from Benin.

This has to be one of the most incorrect statements in DATM history. Mounie worked his socks off, always gave 110% effort too. Didn't sulk after relegation. Got on with it in the Championship. Pritchard, seen more effort from a nun in a brothel. Its funny how history gets re written to suit. there were big discussions on here about Mounies lack of effort at the time... lack of desire to get into scoring positions.. but now any suggestion he didnt work his socks off and give 100% is the most amazingly wrong thing anyones ever said! Personally, I never doubted it. I can see why people did. With some like Mounie, it is no good playing a pressing game. Get balls into the box and he will do the business a la Palace Away! He wasn't the most mobile, granted, but I never saw a lack of effort.

I do not care what league we were in, for 12 million we got seen off with Pritchard. His quaility for us wasn't great, when he was on the field and the amount of times he didn't play was a joke. If at any point in the future, Town spend upwards of 10 million on a footballer again, probs not in my liftime but still i hope to god we do a better job of spending than we did on this guy.

Went to Cardiff the day of the penalty/no penalty. Drove and got to the ground for 2:15 ish. So not drinking we took our seats to watch the warm up. Our shooting practice was pathetic and Pritchard shone out as being the worst. From 20 yards each effort was like a back pass. Out of all our signings he was the most disappointing. Not the worst but most disappointing

I was quite impressed when we signed him, he was a stand out player in the Championship at the time and if we did go down would be a key player to getting us straight back up, unfortunately a bad gamble, he went from us to league 1, if Sunderland do go up will they keep him?, if they don't what are posters thoughts on what will await him?

If they go up and keep him in that pivotal midfield role then they really would be doomed for relegation! I think he'd most likely be sold and id imagine a few championship clubs would want to take him.

A bang average low end championship/ div 1 striker who somehow was idolised by many town fans.

I think some people must sit at a game with a permanent miserable expression on their faces. Criticising players who combined to create life long memories for us.

The way he fell off in the second season was almost as disappointing as how shite Pritchard turned out to be after his first two or three games. When he was on form he was a real handful because of his build and strength but when he wasn't he was like a shitter version of Andy Payton... and his ridiculous dive at Turf Moor in the second season was embarrassing. Seems to be a recurring thing with him, a one-season wonder at pretty much every club he's been at.

I sat on the table next to Depoitre in a restaurant in Huddersfield during that relegation season. He was with this REALLY attractive lass but totally ignored her all night. Barely said a word to her all the way through their meal. Just gawped at his phone instead. wanted to invite her to dump him and join our table instead, but not sure the wife would have been overly thrilled with that.

Of course those memories are cherished.... but equally, it's fair to assess his career at Town and conclude that he couldn't really be arsed and turned up on a few big moments that the opposition/occasion motivated him to. His critique about the changing rooms and car park was priceless.

Memorable moments to me include witnessing an incredible atmosphere in our ground. The likes of which I’ve never seen before. Mounie was a part of this and unlike lots of others I like him. We never saw the best of him because we weren’t able to provide the type of service he needs. We all have our own opinions of course.
