It wasn't broadcasting the Championship games yesterday so I couldn't watch the game at Bramall Lane, and somebody in here said that it had been taken down. Now confirmed. Gone for good it seems. 😠LINK

Quick, for the love of Ada, someone run round to Sugy, Paignton Devon Terrier and remove all sharp instruments and stout rope from his immediate vicinity

Funnily enough, Ada happens to also be the name of Sugy's wife too.

Excellent news and about time for both. It's as bad as counterfeit products at a car boot sale in my eyes.... So have you NEVER had anything counterfeit? Recorded songs off the radio? Recorded something off TV and then watched with someone not of your household? Downloaded anything online with a copyright? St Peter will absolutely love you, may even give you his set of keys

Yes, when at school 40 yrs ago. My record collection is substantial from that time also. Recorded something off TV and then watched with someone not of your household? Not sure what you mean? Downloaded anything online with a copyright? I subscribe for what I need. St Peter will absolutely love you, may even give you his set of keys These illegal sites have got away with it long enough. Even making money from adverts. They will crop up again if they aren't punished severely enough. If you think it's Ok and doing no harm, carry on finding them...

Just my opinion but I was more disgusted. And I mean genuinely shocked too, when I found out that ifollow charge £15 PER MATCH!
When £15 was mentioned I thought 'is that per month or per season'?
PER MATCH!! Oh my days...
Now that's criminal activity right there, only legalised like car insurance.
And anyone who reads the match thread knows half of the posts are folks claiming ifollow isn't working this week or whatever.
Yea, I've no problem with understanding folk grabbing a stream from a dodgy site. Wouldn't do it myself of course.

Maybe if they allowed folk to pay a tenner and watch games live on iFollow for ALL away games, then the need for illegal streams wouldn't be so great, but as it stands the majority of away games aren't available to watch in the UK unless you attend in person.

Don't use them myself either mate, was just the seemingly high horse tone of your post that got me lol. Ref the recording off TV query, you are allowed to record something on TV (or plus it whatever it's called now) and watch it, but if someone not of your household watches the recording also, you're technically breaking the law, even without charging admission. You've NEVER downloaded anything without being allowed to or have a subscription to? Wow, I've rarely had internet at home and I've STILL managed to do that lol Can't recall ever recording the radio myself either (metal very rarely played on radio being one of the reasons) but I know many people do. Used to be a big thing for some people with their finger on pause to miss the talky stuff between tracks And you've NEVER had anything counterfeit? Watch? Perfume? Aftershave? Movie? Lacoste T-shirt? Wow you must be one in a billion mate. This reply is in no way meant condescending, I'm just flabbergasted.

I did buy a Kappa vest in Ibiza late 80's...which I later had colour fastness issues with, may have been fake? But non knowingly. It's the organised crime counterfeiting I see problems with and what they fund...and who knows who sets up illegal streaming sites??? There's obviously something in it for them. It's the organisers the authorities are after. Although they may have monitored users leading up to the closure of the sites?

I'm over here shedding a tear for those poor TV execs missing out on a few pennies during a cost of living crisis because a few folk want to avoid the extortionate fees they charge to watch 'the people's game'.

NOWTV is pretty cheap if you split it with friends and get the season deal at the start of the season, only problem is you cant watch every match. I have no problem with using sites when there's no "legal" way to watch a game in the UK.

I'm over here shedding a tear for those poor TV execs missing out on a few pennies during a cost of living crisis because a few folk want to avoid the extortionate fees they charge to watch 'the people's game'. 100% this. I gave up Sky 5 years ago and normal TV 3 years ago. Everything I watch now is done via streaming, be it legally through platforms such as Amazon or Netflix, or illegally for pretty much every single sporting event that interests me. Why the hell should I pay Sky an absolute fortune so that they can continue to drive a massive financial wedge between the Premier League and the EFL? Even worse, why would I pay such exorbitant fees when people outside this country can watch whatever 3pm Saturday kick off they like yet me who actually lives here gets locked out?! Its absolute madness and as long as it continues then any issue of morality on the subject goes straight over my head. It's remarkably easy to watch anything you want to once you know how and it gives me a warm glow inside to know that I'm no longer giving money to Murdoch or the British Paedophile Protecting Corporation.

The way I see it if I watch something illegally that I would never have paid for anyway, the owner of the copyright is not losing out. I still pay to watch football in person, and occasionally will use iFollow if I fancy a more reliable feed. I have in the past downloaded films/music/TV but only stuff I either wouldn't pay for or (in the case of some TV) that was unavailable in the UK anyway.
As for never having anything knock off, pull the other one. In the 90s and noughties everyone was borrowing a CD from a mate and copying it or taping it etc, or making mix tapes for their beloved or whatever.

Given that this looks like a US based case, surely they’re reacting to a much wider infringement? Hesgoal does a lot more than the EPL and EFL of course.
Are we the unfortunate collateral damage here, or is English football at the heart of this closure?
Imagine if you asked each of the PL footballers to take a 15% pay cut (or something pro-rata to earnings) so that supporters could enjoy cheaper subscription services. I wonder what their response would be?
I’m not blaming them of course, just highlighting that without the insane wages that some of them get, the TV deals might not be in the £bn’s every time they come up for renewal.
