Am I missing something here? when using phone I use the navigation tool bar to go to recent threads. Simple. If I want to see TOTT I have to go to the home page, where I can click on TOTT or the Transfer Rumor boards. Both these choices take the exact amount of time and are selected in the same view. when Using laptop the site opens up and I can go to TOTT or Transfer Rumors same as I can for the Prediction League or Off Topic or any of the other boards. To be honest in both cases I always use recent threads - I will sometimes go to the Transfer Rumor board, but only around window time. What's the big beef? I didn't even know about the recent threads thing until someone mentioned it on here. It's been my bookmarked page for DATM about 5 years now and I find it much easier to keep a track of threads. Which is fine if you're a contributor or consumer of all the off-topic stuff, but I'd suggest most are here just for the Town chatter? Threads replied to in the last 24hrs = 34, it looks like about 12 of those are from Off-Topic or Politics and 3 from Transfer-Rumours. We can't on the one hand use the "Transfer Rumours would flood the main board" argument as a reason for not merging Transfer Rumours with ToTT, whilst offering up 'Recent Threads' as a solution to effectively create that merge - which results in a view even more flooded with non Town threads!? |

I didn't even know about the recent threads thing until someone mentioned it on here. Yeah completely agree there. Although before I started using "Recent Threads" I didn't contribute to (or read) any sub boards as I didn't know they existed. I'm now a more regular contributor, mostly on music and films, but I understand where you're coming from. On the other hand, more people may be like me and start posting on other sub boards once they know about them  |

Good points. When you look at the TR board it’s massively (massively) skewed with most comments and recent activity in the main transfer thread. Any rumours of individual players never (rarely?) go beyond one page, so why not just have it all under one thread and have that single thread on the TOTT board?…..even as a sticky maybe, if wanted….. |

Transfer rumour board is rubbish and needs getting rid of.
Also this obsession with putting everything on one thread is annoying. It used to be that you could scan TT page and get an idea of important stuff from amount of threads and discussion certain topics and could easily see what rumours seemed popular etc.

But not allow separate threads just keep it as a stickied mega thread.

People have an opportunity to voice their opinion on this thread, and then we will make a decision in a few days. Current feeling is a single sticky thread on the TOTT board for ALL transfer activity, which will be moved to the transfer board at the end of the transfer window. You would still be able to create player focused threads on the Transfer Board. Signed player threads would be migrated to TOTT when they get the shirt. UTT. |

I like the idea, but it doesn't work.
All it needed was a stickied link the transfer page on the main page. I see that as a better solution If we can't go back to the way it was.

Rumours are the best part of transfer window. But it has got to the point where people start threads because their mate in the pub got told by a dog walker that x is signing.
I would suggest a Maynard only thread where only Maynard can post. That way, at least there is a thread with concrete rumours.

Don’t pander to the noisy minority, just because they’re noisy! The silent majority are obviously fine with how things are, because they’re not part of the noisy minority. There must be ‘x’ thousand regular readers of this site, yet the dozen or so whingers seem to want a bigger say. Leave things alone, it’s way easier to check on the different individual names that are linked than have to wade through page after page of white noise like we used to have to do.

I never look at the transfer board out of pure laziness, I have a quick scan of the main board and then can usually get an idea of what is happening, if anything at all, and completely miss any rumours etc.
Never read stickied threads either, I just naturally bypass them to get to the 'good' stuff. A popular thread will always remain towards the top naturally, and any guff will fade away, that's how messageboards work. I just don't understand the need to create all of these different user journeys etc.
Surely it'd be easier to administrate all in one place too, no need to move threads etc?
