Afternoon all, So after reviewing the interest in the Moderator role, we are delighted to confirm Tinpot as your new Mod for the Politics board. You should see no real change from day to day on there but he will be actively posting and making sure old habits don’t slip back in. This step of appointing a Mod solidifies the Admin teams commitment to keep the Politics board open for use and discussion. Congratulations (I think!).

Everybody to the fox hunting thread. Seriously, the best of luck, but you're joining an excellent team, you'll be OK. Don't mess it up

Good choice admins. Someone who openly considers both sides. I think he will do a good job.

How about persuading Marcus out of exile? I'd love to see his unflinching support for free speech put to good effect dealing with all the lentil knitters, lettuce munchers & bleeding heart liberals (which I think amounted to pretty well everyone else) on here. Quick question to the admins about the moderator role. Hypothetically speaking, would I be over-stepping the mark if my first act as moderator was to unilaterally say, "absolutely fucking not!" to a request from a poster on this forum?

And as if by magic….for clarity we offered up the role to two members as we felt this would future proof the board in case we had a resignation, and also to cover the rest of the board. So folks, to close out this job please welcome Orinoco. 👍🏻

When my Dad were a lad there's no way a rocker would have welcomed two extra mods.

Long haired, leather clad motorbike riding rocker and his younger brother Neil turned into a Mod, although his moped/scooter didn't last long when he parked outside the house Neil once went down on a Quadrophenia type trip to Brighton, only to find my dad already there on the other side of the divide

When my Dad were a lad there's no way a rocker would have welcomed two extra mods. I think it was inevitable I'd be a metal fan. Dad massive fan of stuff like Sweet, Quo plus the more proggy stuff like Yes. Mam massive Bolan, T-Rex, Slade fan, played it constantly while pregnant according to her, plus stuff like the Planets and 1812 Overture, heavy classical stuff. Then in the early 80s my uncle came to live with us with his tattooist mate Jeff (Hecky tattoo fans will know Jeff Eward) and ended up blasting out Sabbath, Zep, Maiden, etc. Although none of them listen to as heavy stuff as me nowadays. Went to Donington with uncle Andy one year and he went to build spliffs while the likes of Slayer were on
