Why can't I see Off-Topic unless am signed in?
Can't be bothered keep on signing in and out to see what's on Off-Topic and politics board.
And am not prepared to be permanently signed in.
Is this a mistake or a change of policy I have missed ?

Why can't I see Off-Topic unless am signed in? Can't be bothered keep on signing in and out to see what's on Off-Topic and politics board. And am not prepared to be permanently signed in. Is this a mistake or a change of policy I have missed ? This is a test the Admin team is currently running; we've not made an announcement as it is a test. We have put the non-HTAFC boards behind the login as we received a suggestion/warning of sorts from a forum member that some highly provocative posts and debate were there for all to see as visitors to the board on Off Topic & Politics. So we are looking at whether just having the Town related boards open to visitors to read, and no others, works for the site or not, to see what effect it has and whether it is something that should be put in place. Plus we are wanting to monitor how traffic fares as a result of this too. It is not considered to be a huge change but clearly it's one we need to test. If it is to become a permanent move we will advise. Naturally if there are any strong reasons why this is a negative change, we will review them. |

It’s important to me personally and my Admin colleagues too, that we try to be transparent on our actions. Anything that would constitute major changes would naturally be run by the forum. Now about that musical taste…. |

Whatever tests you are running they seem to be knackering up my access to the site. Every time I try and click on a thread I get that proboards server down screen. This includes in the talk of the town section.

Only asking cos I haven't noticed any, there's posts/posters I don't agree with but nothing overly untoward |

It's still running, no plans to stop it any time soon. |
