I had to laugh when Oggy read the banner and said ‘ that’s not the view of Radio Leeds’, of course it isn’t and it was obvious you were reading a banner! He just seems like he doesn’t want to run the risk of upsetting anyone and so states the absolute obvious. The view of Radio Leeds, who cares. They are bothered about Bradford and Leeds. We are 3rd in their priorities. |

He was LB for Burnley in the cup last season, Holmes gave him the runaround then Sorba came on and murdered him So it's really not his position then - despite being a Premier League / top end Championship right back most of his career. I never said it was his position, there's only one pillock that thinks it is 🙄 |

He's good is Lowton - that might have been the first time he's ever played left back in his life. Out of position today - like Rudoni, Waghorn, Kasumu and High. That's almost half the team. He was LB for Burnley in the cup last season, Holmes gave him the runaround then Sorba came on and murdered him He was garbage that day. Turton was pretty good today. He should be right back. The fact we haven't got a left back is ridiculous. It was obvious that should have been priority. But we signed a right back for some reason. |

In South Yorkshire, radio Sheffield Barnsley for example don't even get commentary on every game, and the post match stuff is a joint affair. |

On my way to meet up with drinking mates so dont have time to read tbe thread. Hence a lot of this will no doubt have been said.
Knockaert looks decent and if he improves with game time might make a difference. We looked nervy after an initial bright start and their goal was a gift. We must cut out these mistakes and misunderstandings at the back. We dont score many so keeping tight at the back is essential for survival.
Waghorn has always been a bit of a blunt instrument but was in right place at right time. Rhodes hsd a half chance header but not much else fell his way. Koroma looked OK and Diarra comtinues to show promise. Hogg stinker of first half and rightly got subbed.
Coach needs to work out his new best team and make it gel. Were not down yet.

Bilo deserved to keep his place and te new keeper should have been on the bench. The fact that Scoffers gone to Crawley improved the keeper situation and we didn't need tge Forest reject. |

Ok it isn't a good squad. But it takes some effort to get them to play as hopelessly and disjointed as they did in that first half.
Second half we improved when the subs came on. Especially the 5 minutes when we went to 442. Before he changed us back to 433.
Hogg was a liability today. He was a booking waiting to happen.
High is not good enough.
Well we know Lowton isn't a left back. But I bet he starts there Tuesday.
Waghorn offers nothing.
The defence can't do anything with the ball. If the midfield don't move and find space.

OK. The setup today reminded me of an old I.T. saying, 'You don't get fired for buying IBM', even if that is not the best solution. He put out his 'solid' players, exceptions being Kasumu, Hungbo and Rudoni. Hungbo burst a lung to get to a long ball first half, got it under control and cut it back and there was nobody to pass to, nowhere near. Anyone with an once of nouse would see how we stretched them that last half hour and realise if we started that way, and got a goal, we would take the steam out of the opposition. We had guile, speed and some good footwork, plus the experience and strength of Knockaert.
Rudoni is not best used as a winger. He is much more effective with options either side. Diarra and Kasumu scared the shite out of them second half. They fouled Hungbo every time he got the ball. These are the players that give teams problems. Not Hogg & High & Waghorn. Rudoni should have played in High's position, even if that meant starting Koroma wide left. What has Camara done wrong? MF said he wasn't selected because Hogg was. On Hogg's performance today that is very hard to justify. Probably the worst I have seen him play. Any other player would be dropped.
If you really are setting out to win games don't start with that lineup.
I get the feeling, given the obvious talent we have in this squad, that a decent manager who could sort out tactics, would have them purring. MF either has to learn really quickly or be replaced.

Was it just me or did the new keeper look a bit flappy under pressure today?
Maybe it was nerves or lack of match practice but I wasn't hugely impressed.

The starting eleven had four goals between them this season, two each for the centre-backs. Absolutely nailed it. The reason why we will be relegated. Top all time scorers out of that line up. Tom lees and Jonathan fucking Hogg. The reason why we’ve struggled to score for ten years. Only ever carried by Arron mooy and Lewis obrien. |

Sign a quality right back and played him left back . Midfield were virtually non-existent . One of the few bright sparks from pre-world cup (Camara) nowhere near the squad but Scott High saunters in. Finally play a formation where Rudoni can play in his natural position but we move him out wide and put Kasumu there … who is a better 8 than Scott High.
Hungbo looked a promising winger , Waghorn put a shift in with some decent link up play , Knockaert showed his quality and Diarra had a few flashes of brilliance too - cracking effort in injury time .
Fotheringham has no idea at all . Squads picked on who scored in training 5 a side games and ran the fastest the previous Tuesday . Bingo machine to lock the subs .
Players go through runs of games where they do well then are suddenly dropped : Jackson , Camara, Kasumu , Holmes to name a few since he took charge .

For 60 minutes it was all very anaemic, combined with individual errors from experienced players. We were lucky to be level at half-time. When we made attacking changes we looked much better without creating too much. Diarra's a great impact player at the moment. He's not yet a 90-minute player, so we need to keep using him like that, turning and running against tiring legs, committing players and providing something fresh. Knockaert still has something - he reminded me of Gary Roberts. Pace gone, but technically very good with a good football brain. Used well, he'll make a difference. And Koroma did well to be fair to him - defensively he was switched on and made good decisions. Plus, he didn't try to just cut inside and unleash a shot - his cross for Knockaert, intercepted by the last man, was top-notch and had to be dealt with with no margin for error. |
