No idea what kind of level Phillips is at so I don't know if he might be considered for first team selection (bench or otherwise), but I sincerely hope High stays with the B team where he belongs until we can find another club to take him off us. He shouldn't be anywhere near the first team.

It's like two new signings. Probably better than actual new signings if Cartwright was behind them

If they are available in Dec/Jan then we can have a look at both & decide if they stay or go back out on loan.......These two know its now or never if they want to stay on board at Town.

Most clubs have a loan manager these days. Anyway, to be honest, I forgot we still had Scott High

I think that both these lads have shown a lot of desire & effort while out on loan, to just not give them a chance or two to show what they can offer would not be fair & wrong IMO......Would the pair succeed at Walsall, Tamworth or Crawley?

Neither are up to the job at Town, let’s not beat about the bush here. Shift them both on in Jan or release them. They’re both in their early twenties and need to be establishing themselves somewhere, not festering in our B team.

I'd imagine Harratt might be back. He can't get a start at Fleetwood, just the odd minutes as a sub, and last week not even that. Of course Fleetwood may have committed for the full season loan.

Phillips is worth another try. He has that one asset we lack so much: pace. If it works out, great. It hasn’t in the past because of fitness, but he’s coming off the back of regular games and goals. May as well have a go. If it works out, brilliant. If it doesn’t, then we’re in the same position as we were anyway.
High, sadly, is at an end. Not for lack of effort all round, but he isn’t up to the standard of what we need. When he goes, he goes with best wishes (none of this needless ‘good riddance’ rubbish. The lad might not be good enough, but he’s a trier and deserves better treatment than the needless abuse he gets from a minority).

Neither are good enough and both need releasing. Some people are kidding themselves if they think they have a chance. I don’t get some people’s obsession with ‘academy products’, that allows them to have so much more leeway in terms of opportunities to impress.

Last week we lost to a team of semi-pro's. This week we are debating whether a lad who's nearly 25 and been playing in a pony league is good enough to lead our line.

Question is - is he better than 3 Wood Ward or our Croatian "prospect" ? - methinks he will be - in fact 100% sure he cannot be any worse. Give the lad a go and gerrit int mixer and see what he can do

True, but he has almost 50 appearances for Town, CC was the manager who gave him over half of those & even Warnock used SH in his 15 game end of season miracle two years ago.......So maybe he has a shot at league one under Duff, its a free hit really before end of Jan.

Couple of Halifax supporting friends who both have been raving about Scott high saying he’s for too good for that level. Personally thought he was invisible for us in games but who knows maybe a bit more confidence and he might be ok at this level , doubt it very much but we have nothing to lose we aren’t pulling up any trees without a different outlook to the current set up. Jesus can’t believe I’ve just written the above message I feel a bit sick. 🤢

Maybe Phillips will be classed as a new signing like Spencer was last January. Maybe we should get Hudlin back as well !!

He was always highly rated by the coaching team but never showed it when he played. Plus his last two loans were disappointing after doing reasonably well at Shrewsbury. Some people develop later but we're far too toxic to allow him another chance here. A league 2 loan would make sense. Barrow?

That doesnt mean he wont make an impact in League 1 with another couple of years under his belt.

I’m hoping that he does , got to say he wasn’t close to being ready first time round but the level was much higher especially as he had some game time in PL . I didn’t rate him but your spot on he’s young and might of needed some game time in a lower league to gain confidence and experience, let’s hope.
