Scott High is pretty far down on our list of worries to be honest How so? The centre of the park is where the game can be won and lost. He creates ZERO - statistically ZERO He breaks up nothing Cant even say he has an engine on him, if anyone Kasumu is visibly the one that chases everything down He is literally a boy on the pitch with men. Not fast, not good in the air, can't take a set piece, can't ping a 50 yard pass. I literally see zero in this boy masquerading as a CM in the championship. It's actually embarrassing seeing him line up for us; imagine what knockahart thinks? Sadly the game can also be won and lost in the boardroom, which is the most worrying matter. Our goalkeeper is made of glass. Our strikers offer nothing or are injured. Our defence, which was already looking shakey, is now also absolutely decimated by injuries. We had players last night who looked like they were hiding, I don't think SH was one of them, however poor he may be. Our interim manager is out of his depth, though at least this one is sorted.

Don't get the hate me, yeah, he's not great but we have other players who are far, far worse.

Don't get the hate me, yeah, he's not great but we have other players who are far, far worse. Its not hate. I don't know him, I'm sure he is a great lad and I'm sure he really cares. But so are 1000s of lads but they don't get picked to play in a championship level football club. Not just once, but constantly despite offering absolutely nothing ever. And genuinely, please tell us who you think is is far far worse ?

The Stoke commentators thought he was one of our better players last night and were surprised he was subbed I noticed. All relative though I suppose seeing how bad we were. I think he has the makings of a good player, he’s athletic and has a good range of passing. I think he needs to put his foot in more, he jockeys his man without tackling him, sure NW will sort that. I wish he’d shoot more as well, he had a great opportunity last night and tried to play Koroma through when he should’ve just shot. He’s not alone in that failing though.

You've got to take the Highs with the Lowes.

And there you have it, a proper manager that knows the championship doesn't have Scott High anywhere near his team/bench

When Town were relegated in 2001, that was Scott Highs fault So was the own goal at Wembley against Forest We're going down because of Scott High. He wasn't here for half of the season but it's still his fault

Unnecessary Hes nowhere near good enough at the moment. Don't crucify the lad. Whats he supposed to do? Tell the manager not to pick him?

To be fair, I think High will suit this kind of football. Hopefully Warnock brings the best out of him.
As others have said, now is the time for us to be pushing players on, not slating them

And there you have it, a proper manager that knows the championship doesn't have Scott High anywhere near his team/bench Have a fucking day off. The lad is a local lad, he’s come up through our academy and always given it 100%. Some of the lazy wankers we’ve had to endure over recent years and you take the opportunity to take a dig at High, after a performance like that and a buzz around the club again? The reason Warnock is “a proper manager” is because he can read the room and get the best out of each player, and adjust to what they need right now. I can assure you he’ll be putting his arm around High right now. Grow up.

We won today so it’s only fair to slag off the players that were not in team. Don’t know whether he’s good enough or not but constantly slagging players off is just shit.

I’ve been one of his biggest critics, but maybe he’s unsure of his role himself and not sure of his best position? Hopefully Warnock can help him.

It’s clear to me after today, that some players are unable to operate to their full potential when a club is in chaos.

High did not pick himself, he did not pick the players around him. We have had two coaches that drained the life out of the team and did not give him a chance. Not our best player at the moment, but if Bromby keeps picking our players he could soon well be

High is the sort of player Warnock will see a lot of potential in to mould into a really good midfielder. Ok hes not there yet, but that could be down to the managers and coaching hes had.
How fucking tragic do you have to be to get back from that game and your first post is to slag off one of our young players who didnt even play?

Whilst i agree slagging off a non player seems daft after a good win im struggling to see what high offers at this level to make you think warnock will see good things in him. Hes 22 now and just not good enough on what ive seen..... who will he displace and on what basis?

I dont think hes anywhere near as poor a player as some make out for one thing,, but he seems to have a great attitude and has a good engine, two things Warnock values a lot. Technically hes pretty good.. what lets him down are the choices he makes a lot of the time.. he doesnt use his ability very well. He wouldn't be in my starting Xi at this stage and probably not on the bench even if everyone is fit, but I dont rule out that he will given more time to develop... perhaps under a manager like Warnock.
At the same age Mooy had played half a dozen games for St Mirren and was giving that up to go back to Australia to try and get his career going in the league there so writing players off as not good enough at that age can be very premature.

About a year ago today I stated to some friends that High was better than Russell (I’m aware they are different types of CM) I’m not saying that this statement is correct but I was never convinced by Russell when others were raving about him.
I think high is similar to the last Scot* (who was also Scottish) we had in midfield and I think he will have a decent career somewhere… but that could still be with us… I just don’t think he has had the players around him to best showcase his attributes of which i think there are some.
*there may of been other Scots
