Why does none of the big betting companies have towns next manager available?
Is it because Warnock is still in the job or because they don’t have a clue either
They are really keeping this one tight lipped which says to me Netflix could well be involved

There’s a helluva LOT of speculation for sure - all part of the ‘fun’ I guess...
Well I think for certain that it’ll definitely be someone called either... A. Manager - or perhaps also someone called A. Head-Coach !!! 😉 😬

No insider knowledge but I can’t help but think it will be Wayne Rooney. To me it seems the new ownership want to push our Global appeal (new hire - head of brand etc and the talk of Netflix). If Netflix is a possibility as has been mentioned I’m sure that they would only be interested if we have a good story to tell and Rooney, with his recent work in the States as a player and manager may help to market Town over the pond. With the unexpected and premature departure of Warnock I just can’t see it not being a significant ‘name’ and most of the other names touted I don’t think are that exceptional to justify ending NW. However if Wazza has hinted a chance of leaving his role in the USA early then I could see that being the justification for the recent events. Like I said, no insider knowledge but anything else just wouldn’t feel right Wayne Rooney is still at DC United. He’s a very public figure and I’m not aware of any rumours of him about to leave DC. For that reason alone I can’t see any possibility of it being him coming to Town later this week. He wants to leave DC as he is unsettled, they are messing him around with a new deal. Chairman hasn't made contact with him for 2 months. 7th September this was reported after rumours linking him with the Birmingham job.

Ternent didn't take charge until the following season despite having been appointed prior to that. Yes, so long ago I had to check. He was officially Town manager but left Gerry Murphy in charge for the last 2 games (one being the away game at Luton). Thinking about it, I was there for Ternent's first game in charge, which was v Stockport along with 15 000 others for the start of the Centenary season (still got the shirt :-)). I would have replied to you earlier, but your answer has had me looking up what you've since found out for yourself. I had forgotten that Stan was appointed in April 2008, then looking at Gerry's three spells in charge, I realised that Andy Ritchie started towards the end of the previous season, so I had to revisit his record. Assuming that there aren't any other such errors, then canuckterrier99 has it right with Neil's 3-2 win at Rotherham in 1993. Mick Buxton had umpteen goes to win an away game in his first spell but won at Mansfield at the first attempt on his return (Ian Ross was Manager In Name Only) in the same year. Gerry's league record was I reckon P17 W9 D6 L2 Pts33 and he drew his first away game at Carlisle (after beating Bradford at home).

It’s being kept to quiet for it to be Rooney, a global superstar of that magnitude something would have slipped out by now from somewhere.

One thing we'll know by midnight tomorrow if there's any chance its Rooney. D C United are playing Wednesday night / Thursday morning kick off 00:30. If he is at the game, I can't see him being here for an announcement later in the week.

It couldn’t be Tony Pulis surely. Worked with Cartwright at Stoke. Experienced and successful in his time . Younger than Colin, Perish the thought

Would explain why nothing has leaked though and also why the timing of the announcement is now so that NW can take the Stoke game and WR can take the DC game before the change is made. With all the criteria that's been suggested, Rooney does fit the bill.

In part very true. Did anyone go fishing for another prospective employer ? From what was reported, both clments and narcis, were approached by Norwich soon as the last season finished. Narcissistic interview with the Norwich says he made the decision to leave at the end of last season

No Jill Ellis on the list? Just what this club needs right now is a social experiment to gage whether our fanbase / players are progressive enough to accept a female gaffer, it has success written all over it.

And someone said Welsh earlier in the week… Highly doubt it but the logic behind has some merit - if we’d been interviewing multiple candidates then it would have got out so I’m expecting it to be someone either unemployed or about to end a contract who was already known by one of our new exec team and therefore approached directly.

Is it because Warnock is still in the job or because they don’t have a clue either They are really keeping this one tight lipped which says to me Netflix could well be involved I imagine it's because by all accounts it's already been decided and will be announced by the end of the week. Therefore there is limited time for them to make enough money from the market to negate the risk that they could lose money from having to pay out to people who genuinely know.

Not sure if said before as many many posts to trawl through. The timing of this coincides with the speculation that Wilder could be going back to Sheff U if Heckingbottom is sacked. Might have played a big part in the club acting now… just a thought
