He was sacked when they were fifth in the league last season. Fans only couldn’t wait for him to be sacked because Norwich are used to bouncing back straight away, our expectations quite rightly should be lower than theirs. They finished the season 13th btw. He didn't win in 40 of the 56 games he managed them for. I'd call that pretty woeful with the squad they had Was awful at Leicester too in his short temp stint.

For the love of Pete, any chance of removing the poll or moving this into a new thread? Having to scroll three 12 mile's of shitty options for replacing Buzz is doing my nut in. We need you back as a mod, this place is becoming a bit of a shambles.

In the champ, he had a 42% win record before being sacked. And he showed he could do it at Brentford and Villa before that too.

And what has Mason actually done that falls into what Edwards has said? He is unproven. Short temp stint at Spurs. Not saying it wouldn't work, but is the complete opposite of what's been hinted.

Neil replaced both times by men with Brummie accents (although Brian is from South Staffordshire). Will settle for Dean finishing 8th and won't gripe this time that Neil would have finished higher.
Edit: have we been managed by any other Brummies?

Always thought he was a good manager, maybe the Norwich experience is the only reason he might now potentially take a job at town. No idea if it will work or if he’s the best man available but it seems a good shout.

Neil Warnock became the first Town manager to win his first home league game since Simon Grayson did it in 2012, but if we have a new manager in charge at Coventry and we win, who will be displaced as the most recent one to have won their first away league match? [Not counting interim managers, although what could ever match Gerry Murphy's win at Leeds?] Stan Ternent, with the win at Luton in May 2008?

I predict it’ll be Dean Smith, former head of youth at Walsall and spells at championship/prem level. Didn’t do well at his last two clubs but did get villa up and kept them up. Play style was a bit of a snore fest. I hope not.. I find he comes across as a bit of a wet wipe and would prefer someone who comes across as having a bit more about him. My opinion only of course 👍 That’s fair enough. I don’t see many good managers out there at the moment that would come to us, so be interesting to see who joins. Especially after how good Warnock has been since he came back. Who do you think we should go for?

He was a Spurs Academy coach for the Under-19 UEFA Youth League side in July 2019, and then the head of player development (U-17 to U-23) from August 2020. First team record of 6 wins, 1 draw, 6 losses. I agree limited experience, but all other coaches mentioned are out of a job for a reason.

Who do you think we should go for? Difficult one Hoggy1975 as we are probably picking from a list of unemployed managers. I don't think Wilder is someone we could rely on to see through a project but he does come across as a bit 'no nonsense'. Is he a one trick pony, though? Jones.. horrible fucker and accepts no responsibility.. not for me BIG Sam Allardyce would be good I reckon but would people accept him these days. Might be good if we go down the route of netflix. Seriously he wouldn't join and we cant afford him. I think the Mason guess could be an outside possibility but sadly I think it will be Jones.

I didn't Know Kevin owned a casino. Well he is english/ brit and has worked abroad and is currently out of work. If the has worked abroad thing is correct, then many names on here are completely a non starter in that case. Whereas pardew would be on the list of possibles as he has worked abroad.

Stan Ternent, with the win at Luton in May 2008? Ternent didn't take charge until the following season despite having been appointed prior to that. Yes, so long ago I had to check. He was officially Town manager but left Gerry Murphy in charge for the last 2 games (one being the away game at Luton). Thinking about it, I was there for Ternent's first game in charge, which was v Stockport along with 15 000 others for the start of the Centenary season (still got the shirt :-)).

No insider knowledge but I can’t help but think it will be Wayne Rooney. To me it seems the new ownership want to push our Global appeal (new hire - head of brand etc and the talk of Netflix).
If Netflix is a possibility as has been mentioned I’m sure that they would only be interested if we have a good story to tell and Rooney, with his recent work in the States as a player and manager may help to market Town over the pond.
With the unexpected and premature departure of Warnock I just can’t see it not being a significant ‘name’ and most of the other names touted I don’t think are that exceptional to justify ending NW. However if Wazza has hinted a chance of leaving his role in the USA early then I could see that being the justification for the recent events.
Like I said, no insider knowledge but anything else just wouldn’t feel right

Their play offs is bizarre, but maybe if they haven't anything to play for, he would leave early.

For that reason alone I can’t see any possibility of it being him coming to Town later this week.
