The club are playing this one close to their chest. Good. I hope it doesn't become widely known or even widely rumoured, until after 22.00 tonight.

The club are playing this one close to their chest. They won’t be wanting any boobs before the big reveal... It would be embarrassing if it all went tits up at this stage and the board won’t be wanting to give bigger clubs any cleavage to potentially poach the new boss... DATM is keeping me very well abreast of things though ! 😉

Wouldn’t of been my choice who wouldn't have been your choice? Do you want me to list every single manager who I wouldn’t have picked? There’s a reason I don’t work in football so I’ll reserve full judgement until a suitable stage and trust the club with the appointment.

For those that are stating that it was only a temporary appointment to support or try and make sense of the decision. I get that and to be fair, there was never going to be a good time for this decision I guess. However, let me put it another way. If we had a star striker, a striker who scores 25 goals a season and whose overall contribution to the Team cannot be underestimated, a big part of the Club and Team and a real fans favourite. Now this Striker is set to leave at the end of the season, we all know that. The Player is also very happy here and absolutely wants to stay until the end of the season. And continue to play their part and be integral to the Team and what we achieve on the pitch. The Club though decides the striker is going now, close to the start of the season (and against the Strikers wishes). In the thought or hope that they can get another 25 goals a season striker in straight away that will also have so much influence and be a fans favourite. Okay, the Club might unearth a 27-30 goals a season striker that is better than the one that has just left. The likelihood is though that the replacement will be 15-20 goals if we are lucky. Why would we not want the Striker at the Club for as long as they were happy to be here?. And, who knows, they may even change their mind in the summer and agree to stay longer. It is utter nonsense that we are not maximising the time that Warnock (and his Team) wants to spend at this football Club. And in terms of him going at the end of the season, who knows, he may have agreed to stay longer as it isn't like he hasn't changed his mind 100 times is it!. We will never know. This is your 2nd long rambling moan about this.. I do get your disappointment but we have to look at the reality. KN has bought the club and obviously wants to 'get on' with things..he asked NW/RJ to run things until a new long term appointment could be made, someone who can (hopefully) lead the club over the next 3 years, someone who KN will give transfer funds and who will lead Town to the target of the PL. That's KN's plan..that's what he's aiming for...and I can fully understand him wanting to get things moving, the same way as he's already set plans for the Academy and for ownership of the JSS etc...he's a man who wants to move fast. It might have taken until next year for his 'right man' to come along in which case NW was tied up , just in case. That's good business, but his 'man' has suddenly emerged so he's struck quick to secure him...again good business (although as ever, time will tell). I don't blame KN at all for this approach..what do you expect him to do, see the guy he wants but let him go just to leave NW in charge in the hope another 'right man' will come along before the end of the season ? It matters not if NW is winning games or losing games, because NW is NOT part of the future of this club. Not as far as KN is concerned and not as far as NW is concerned because he doesn't want to commit to 3 years. Ultimately we have to accept the owner has the right to do things his own way, and in this case I agree with what he has done if he is so sure that the new coach is the right person to deliver his 3 year plan. NW , I reiterate, is not part of the future of this club, he doesn't want to be..that's fine, so the sooner we get someone in who wants to be part of our future the better I say.
Brilliant post.

Darren Moore does not fit any of the criteria Edwards spelled out. Nixon has stated a lot of stuff, that has never been true about town in just this summer alone. One off the top of my head Phil Rawlings will be involved in the takeover? i would suspect Nixon hit record of sucess with town is way below what it use to be.

A choice between Warnock and Moore, I’d have been asking Neil if we could extend this one season to longer

If it's Darren Moore then it seems to me an incredibly risky move. Is he the best we can get?
I like the fact Nagle is being bold and I'll back the new manager 100% but he surely gives us a lower chance of staying up than Warnock, and isn't the sort of high-profile name that would even unite let alone galvanise the fans. There will be a complete meltdown on here, which clearly doesn't matter, but that might carry over into the ground.

I think he does unfortunately, with his experience at youth level, PL with West Brom & promotion from league one with Wednesday. Very little championship experience is worrying when Edwards said we wanted someone with a track record though, I agree. I thought this time we’d make a proper ‘stand up and take notice’ appointment. I can’t see how we feel he will take us up in 3 years, but obviously there’s some sort of ambitious plan in place which is fine.

His record isn’t bad statistically but I did just message my Donny supporting mate and his response was:
“His football is shite, good luck”

Conflicted on this one. Whilst it would definitely be a downgrade on Warnock, it’s not the worst appointment if it’s Moore. We needed a good motivator and man manager to get the best out of the players, and he comes across as that sort of bloke. Slightly underwhelmed as it doesn’t feel like a 0-3 years to the PL sort of signing but hey ho.
