Admin - why was my account banned?

Hi could an honest question as to why my account was banned at the weekend? I don't I even posted so unsure as to why?
Been on here since 2008 I think and so that account has plenty of history including messages with other posters
I've got a new account with exactly the same details so really confused by the whole thing
An explanation would be very welcome! Cheers

Dalesterrier - your account was not banned at the weekend by any of the admin team. In fact its still active and I can see you have been a member since 2008, making 1,104 posts. There is a known glich with Proboards that sometimes erroneously says you are banned when you are not. I am going to PM you on your old account, and if you receive it, we can delete this one. So please try to log in using your normal account.

We’ve seen this before, and I’ve had it happen to me. It sounds to be something to do with your IP or wi-if connection. If you restart your device and your router, it should come good. I have no explanation as to why this happens. Sometimes you need to connect via another router or wi-if elsewhere to ‘unblock’ the ban that crops up. It is certainly a ProBoards glitch as Keith says. Hopefully this helps.

When I try and log on using my phone it only works when I'm at home and presumably connecting by my home wifi

Lap top at home is fine

When away from home using phone I get the you are banned message and don't even get to first menu page

Any ideas?

This has happened to me in the past.
As per the messages above, it’s a bit of a mystery is this.
With me, I just persevered with logging out and back on again until the problem disappeared.

Proboards often bans by IP address. An IP address is usually (95%+ of the time) leased - like a hire car. If you've never done owt wrong driving your own car, you'll probably be fine as long as you carry on driving the same car*. But if you travel away and hire a car, you might find yourself getting pulled over if your hired car's registration plate's on a database of hit & runs.

Also, you might well be sharing your car with loads of other people you may well not even know because on the Internet, cars are pooled... like some sort of socialist utopia.

*Your own car can get replaced without you realising it, so it can happen at home too. That's when it becomes a bit like parking spots, but that's another shit analogy for another time.
