The amount of phones on the 2nd photo. I was there last night, the guy next to me recorded every song with a GoPro and showed no emotion through the whole performance. I don’t get it. Go and watch through your eyes not a lens or a screen. Immerse yourself in it all, or what’s the point? Each to their own I suppose?

What do people do with the images and footage? It is the same at football matches, do people watch them back or is it just the narcissistic nature of social media that they think anybody actually gives a shit they were at a gig or a football match and they have to prove it.

And I wonder if my earlier point about the atmosphere being less than expected is due to the vast number of the audience doing exactly that.

Me and the missus were there too. Great to see such a huge concert in our stadium. We both love Muse but thought the atmosphere was a bit flat and not quite the exciting occasion we were anticipating. Seen them a few times now, they've always relied on the music to get the crowd going rather than showmanship/interaction. But some songs in the latest setlists are so dull that they're just not having the same impact.

Just enjoy being there! That way, each performance gets more legendary in your own mind.

It seemed that the 'classic' songs lifted the crowd but the other stuff then stopped that momentum and brought them down again. We were just waiting for it to really get going and it didn't happen until the end.

Stadium packed to the rafters for the Muse concert.must have been 35000 there I reckon.. would post a photo but never mastered that on my mobile. Nagle will no doubt have noted the potential...the stage looked phenomenal and I can see now why there's temporary seating there..

Worth adding this was the same night that Queens Of The Stone Age were headlining just 6miles away as the crow flies!

I thought it was a shame the Royal Blood set was only 45 mins long - they have a few good songs they didn't get time to play In an ideal world Muse cut 5 or so songs from the middle section of their set (the section after Hysteria) - which I agree they didn't hit the mark - and give Royal Blood some extra time Still a great night and when Muse are on it for the bigger songs it's some spectacle

Download festival my phone stayed in my (zipped and chained) pocket throughout. And not just because I thought it might get damaged in the pit. I'm there to watch the bands, not record them. Especially nowadays when every single concert is put on YouTube at some point.

Stockholm Syndrome, New Born, Assassin, Butterflies & Hurricanes would all go down well + are popular enough that most people should know them.

I've never been to a Muse gig that I haven't come away gobsmacked at how good its been. The atmosphere round by us never dropped.

Especially nowadays when every single concert is put on YouTube at some point. Its become another bad habit, you must have your own record of being there. You must have a full record of being there and how 'good' a time you had, for others to see? I guess we bought videos and dvds of concerts we had been to before?? I could not be arsed to hold a phone up for 2 hours to be honest, I might if what I was witnessing a life changing event? Seen concerts where the amount of light coming from the crowd competes with the stage lighting and affects the overall experience.

For a million quid I couldn't tell you the name of any Muse song...which is odd for a stadium band.
Looked a busy do though.

My mate gave me the play list (below) and you can easily see where you could switch some of those tracks in for stuff where I agree it's not really working Intro: Chant Play Video Will of the People Play Video Interlude Play Video Hysteria Play Video [Drill Sergeant] Play Video Psycho Play Video Thought Contagion Play Video Won't Stand Down Play Video Kill or Be Killed (Felsmann + Tiley Reinterpretation) Play Video Compliance Play Video Interstitial 'Parkour' Play Video Time Is Running Out Play Video You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween (Bach's 'Toccata and Fugue in D minor' intro) Play Video Madness Play Video We Are Fucking Fucked Play Video The 2nd Law: Isolated System Play Video Supermassive Black Hole Play Video Interstitial 'Driving' Play Video Plug In Baby Play Video Behold, the Glove (Matt Bellamy song) Play Video Uprising Play Video Prelude Play Video Starlight Play Video Encore: Kill or Be Killed Play Video Knights of Cydonia (Ennio Morricone's 'Man With A Harmonica' intro)

Baffles me folk these days who hold a phone up all day instead of just enjoying something first hand. Also when you see clips of people just stood filming something bad happening instead of getting involved to help.

I’m with you though all I know is a few peoples estates have tried to sue him for similar chords or something.

Not sure he is thought the agreement was Nagle cleared the club debts. They said he'd get reimbursed anything he spent between the takeover announcement and it going through Okay not heard that but makes sense and reasonable DH put a lot in since PH went tits up.

Were they selling Steak Canadians at the Muse gig?
(I was going to put concert, but thought I’d go all NME…)
