That is my favourite shirt, was well made, and the fleecy inside was great!! 😂 Yes, it was fleecy. Weirdly, the home shirt from that time, which I also had, was not fleecy at all. Mine was only a medium wouldn't fit now anyway if still had it!! Wore it for work like most of us did with our out of date shirts!!

Must admit, there's a part of me that would like a Sacramento SC shirt now.

Three pages in, and nobody has been brave enough to talk about their first shit… 😉
We’ll I suppose it would really need to be your first memorable one…

When you're a kid who supports a team outside the top flight, you pick a "favourite" from the top flight too... but when you're older and you support a team in any of the top four divisions, the only acceptable "second team" is one from overseas or non-league. My former varied from L***s (very briefly) to Spurs (cos they had Gascoigne) and latterly Norwich (when they flirted with the top 4 with Chris Sutton). These days it's Taunton Town (watched them a few times when I lived down there, they're now in the dizzy heights of the Conference South), and Sliema Wanderers from the Malta Premier League (saw them in a UEFA Cup preliminary whilst on a family holiday). Also have a bit of a soft spot for Borussia Dortmund thanks to a school exchange in the area, and Dukla Praha because of HMHB. Oh, and Kingstonian because I lived there too, and because they got shafted by AFC Wimbledon but nobody remembers that bit when they talk about the "fairytale". Yep. TBF there were quite a lot of "2nd teams" when I was a kid. Spurs being one of mine - also Gazza, plus (heth eth eth) Chris Waddle. Rangers was the only one where I bought the shirt though. As a young adult - Emley. THAT cup run quarter of a century ago was the most excited I've ever got about a club that wasn't HTFC. Nowadays, Bromley. In-laws are fans of the club. Started out going along as a neutral, but watching enough of their fixtures you become invested. Never as invested as I was as a young adult watching that Emley game, but I still want to see them do well. My very first football match was Emley against Colne Dynamoes at a half-open old Wembley in the FA Vase. I was barely six so can't remember a thing about the game. Remember the train ride down with my dad and brother though, and my dad being a bit star-struck because Steve Kindon was in the next set of seats to us. Remember the FA Cup run too, and seeing fans with inflatable masts in the crowd on MOTD. Given your Fast Show reference, there's only one way to sign off... Boutros boutros Ghali!

I had the 70/71 away one just to play football at school in. Was that the black and red stripes? Remember a picture of Jimmy Nicholson in some football annual I got for Christmas ‘69 or ‘70 in those stripes. Classic.

I dont think it was easy to get replica shirts in the late 70's early 80's, I remember a lot of kids at school in approx 1980 wearing the Liverpool Hitachi shirt much to my disgust! Think I got my first Town shirt around that time but was very much in the minority! Made me so proud to see so many kids wearing Town shirts in the PL years! First one may may have been Bukta or Baralan, think the next one was definitely a Baralan in a shiny material which seemed state of the art at the time and like the Umbro shirts worn by the big first division teams at the time! Umbro seemed to make all the best kits back then although looking back the Adidas ones were also very nice.
In terms of kit manufacturers (and in other ways) we hit an all time low with VOI in around 2002. Hideous thing, vile design, material, colour and a ridiculously oversized badge. My least favourite kit by a long way, worn by an embarrassment of a football team coached by a joke! This seasons are pretty sh1t to be fair, worst home kit in a long time, I'd imagine they'll be giving them away soon.

You know how when you're a kid, you support Town, but you also "support" someone that's good as well? For me it was Glasgow Rangers & Sheffield Wednesday (who were good at the time - early 90s). My first shirt was a Rangers shirt that I bought from Sugg Sports. Never owned a Wednesday one (although I did own a massive one in the sense that I was a fat kid). First Town shirt was the Pulse one we had from Warnock's first spell here. Still had it until a few years ago. Ipswich for me, top flight, in the European competitions, amazing manager and players and most importantly they played in blue! Have to confess also had a big soft spot for Forest..and Villa probably due to their European success. Used to love watching the crackly footage of those mid week European games; magical! Only watched about 3 Champions league games in the last 30 years! Bit like the FA cup really, at the risk of sounding like a miserable old ****, it's not the same now!

Surprised by how few town shirts have been mentioned.
My first shirt was the new one worn for the Warnock play off final. I have every home shirt since.

My first town top was the yellow Panasonic 1996/97 season. Was my 1st game too. We beat Norwich 2-0 I think.

There was a white version of this too, it was worn a couple of times in games although not sure it was ever on sale.

First shirt was Town from 1970/71 I think just as I began supporting them. Still got the Barralan from 1979 (when I was 15 years old) and can just about fit into it

First kit was a plain blue Everton shirt with a sow on badge!
Then I got the greenalls beers Town shirt (1987/88) thin blue stripes and an amazing Everton away yellow with blue triangles.
Then it was Town all the way until the best kit of all time in my opinion mid 90s Newcastle away blue, maroon hoops with ecru trim. (Football kits were becoming fashion)
Regards admiral there was a really good documentary called GET SHIRTY also not kit related but STUCK ON YOU a football sticker documentary is also really good and takes me back to my youth
