Don’t know how to add post but. account on twitter linking us with Bayern forward Paul wanner for £5m 😂 Probably nonsense, of course! Recent news articles on him talk about him deciding whether to declare for Austria or Germany. And talk of Munich possibly loaning him out this year. Sounds like there's not any talk of a transfer, anyway! Only 17 years old. p.s. if he's not declared for a country yet - presumably he wouldn't even have the requisite points to get a work permit in the UK, in these post-Brexit times, anyway?

Some weird transfers going on this summer. David McGoldrick who scored 22 goals in league one last year going to Notts County...League 2 could be wild this year with Wrexham in there too He's a County fan, he started at County, he wanted to finish at County, apparently

He's turned down Championship and League One offers to go finish his career at the club he supports.

I’ve been working in Europe for the last few years and have a lot(!) of exposure to European football, French and Spanish in particular.
I’ve never understood why more Championship clubs don’t go for young but proven European talent in the lower tiers… the rationale being they are available for a few millions euros each and have massive upside sales potential, while the player themselves gets exposure in England and the Prem, which is currently the best league in the world.
A couple of names in France and Spain, which would all be around the £1-2m mark and improve the Hudd squad; - Morgan Guilavogui - Ilan Kebbal - Noah Diliberto - Alberto Moleiro - Sergi Cardona
If the new owners want to spend smartly this is the sort of profile I’d be buying.

Unfortunately they won’t get work permits! Unfortunately so. The only real way you could take a player from the Spanish or French second tiers (Band 4 competitions) is if they were also full internationals for a country in the top 50 of the FIFA rankings. If we are looking for talent in Europe, the 'sweet spots' - attainable Visa / financially viable - are likely to be the Band 2 competitions: Dutch, Belgian, Portuguese and Turkish top flights. For example - Yuta would have qualified even without his Japan caps simply through playing regularly for PEC Zwolle.

As a couple of people have said, work permits are the problem. Looking at the names you've mentioned, Moleiro and Cardona come the closest with 11/12 points out of 65, but 15 is the minimum.

I’d be trying to get Charlie Patino. Aaron Collins leaving Exeter, could be worth a punt. Don't think compensation would be massive either

Aaron plays for the Gas, doesn’t he? Both Patino and Collins are up for grabs, but I doubt we have the clout at the mo to compete for Patino.

I’ll do my yearly plug for a MLS player I’d like to see town go for. I think I’ve offered 4 names in the past. 1 regressed and is now terrible, 1 is very good, and 2 picked up persistent injuries that wrecked their careers. So this may be the kiss of death. Jose Cifuentes is a dynamic/physical midfielder and was part of Ecuadors World Cup squad. Just was reading an article and didn’t realize he’s down to 6 months left on his contract. 24 years old. On around £8.5k a week. My guess is he’d get £15k if he stayed over here but likely for less with the chances of promotion/showcasing himself for a big move. Meets the points required under GBE. Rangers linked but feels like rangers/Celtic are linked to 100 players every summer.

Adam Forshaw been released by Leeds. 31 and slightly injury prone, but he'd be a decent signing for us in an area where we're lacking.

Wonder if we maybe looking Rhys Healey just decided to leave Toulouse where he got 40 in 79 games, I think he’s may have been at Cardiff same time warnock was.

He missed most of last season due to a ruptured cruciate. Would be a gamble on his fitness as he's not played a first team game since the injury. PS: thanks to transfer market for the info 🤣

As long as we get someone new to do the pre-signing fitness checks. The one for Aarons was either done over Zoom or by Stevie Wonder!
