The striker deal who fell through last minute, does anybody know who it was?
Listened to the Oh to be a terrier and they mentioned it was an exciting striker but we got any clues as to who?

Anyone can get a last minute deal to fall through if you won't pay the going rate. As you can guess I am more than a little bit sceptical on this point, our management were under so much criticism for their failure to bring someone in, another late attempt at bringing someone over the line sounds iffy to me. I we could not get one in all window what were the chances of managing to get one last minute?

The last min bit is last minute in the transfer deal, it was late in the window but from what was said on here and now in other places sounds like nearly announced one but it fell through

Apparently to someone who could offer them a better wage, so were we really in with a shout or did we just trigger off the other interested party were we can not match the wages of another championship club (maybe some league 1 teams as well)? I am very sceptical, our management are trying to get some qudos back after a very disappointing window.

If they are waiting for an incoming before letting someone go, can't be helped if it is last minute.

Last time I looked we had 25 fit players, none of them teenagers despite various posts about kids. Yes, we're all disappointed we didn't get a striker in but we've shifted a lot out, got some good loans amongst that, and it looks like signed 2 cracking attack minded players. Ok not dancing in the streets but not a disaster. How about looking forward to what these lads could do under NW?

And there’s always next summer of course. Please don't start on next summer. Some on here seem to think that is when we will see some investment, I hope we will but let's not get carried away just yet.

If there were any doubt left in your mind just listen to what the MANAGER thought of it. His opinion trumps mine, yours and all the happy clappers on here . Just need to hope we're lucky with injuries now but I fear we'll be scratting around in January as per usual!

I still can't get over just how bad he was. For someone who's played the majority of his career at this level or higher he looked unbelievably out of his depth! I can't think of another player who's legs have gone in such a short space of time. He played 20+ prem games the season before! Elphick was a pretty bad one too.

Seem to remember his first touch for us was an attempt to chest it back to the keeper but instead he played in their striker for an early goal. Seemed like he got injured pretty soon after that and we didn’t see him again. 😆

Yeah think it was, it was quintessential Town, kill any hope quickly 😆 And it came not long after I thought Diakhaby may actually be a decent weapon in the Championship, as he motored his way down the right wing, miles ahead of any Derby defender. Needless to say, the end product was lacking and then Elphick sold Grabara short and then Lawrence scored another beauty and we were chasing the game. Was that Mooy's last game for us?

Pretty sure he was trying to shoulder it back cos he tried it again a few games later, was nothing but mistakes that lad, that one at Blackburn was the moment he must have been thinking he’s finished, but then he seemed to be slightly picking up and typically town like he got cropped with a definite red card that wasn’t shown (shock) and I think that was his last game of his career…was a let down because I expected alot better after what he’d done in his career similar to Tom Lees did for us but looked so out of his depth. If you are the person on Twitter suggesting Matt Lowton as decent Free show yourself……….surely an automatic ban If anyone thinks Tom Edwards isn't up to Championship standard as a right back, then just think back to seeing Matt Lowton 'playing' for us last season! a few goals came from his side already this season and like magic when he’s dropped we looked far better defensively, was worried soon as they was bigging up this delap’esq throw he’s apparently got when we signings him trying to hide the fact stoke didn’t want him and didn’t pull any tree’s up at Barnsley last season either

Is Hoilett still training with us? Has it been confirmed that he ever was, or was that just a rumour? TBF, even if he was, that's no guarantee that we were interested. Could just as easily have been Colin helping out an old mate. IIRC Danny Simpson trained with Leicester City after leaving us.

Sounds like he's signing for Vancouver Whitecaps which makes sense, just goes to show its not always about money etc and sometimes personal reasons. I guess its near home, certainly more so than Yorkshire!

I was one of the 'at least we'll compete in the championship next year' brigade as we sleep-ran into relegation, looking back it was definitely a coping mechanism! But I remember being quite excited for that game, big home crowd despite being live on sky, new era with a new chairman (!), clean slate to get back to winning games again etc etc. Few moments have completely slurped the energy out of a stadium like that one. It was like when you walk into a pub and everyone stops and stares.

Absolute career ending tackle which didn't even see a card - I don't think.
