Was always going to happen with Neil back in charge. Good luck Danny. I still think he should be a squad player though rather than leading the line if we want to be challenging in the top half.

Happy with it but surely can't be our main striker

Happy with it but surely can't be our main striker Warnock did say wanted another striker.well said 1 maybe 2 so yeh happy for him to get new deal but you wouldn’t want to be relying on him so adding to that department a must really. Guessing Rhodes be leaving as not really featured under warnock

Think ward would do well with another striker upfront with him, holds ball up well etc. I've liked the look of Harratt, but we do needs someone a little more established.

Guessing Rhodes be leaving as not really featured under warnock doesn't fill me with much joy Ward signing 2 year deal...he has limited attributes, his hold up play non existent..he does run around a bit though. Rhodes could win headers, hold up play and is an instinctive goal poacher...but he's slowed down a bit now.. so right to let him go...Who we bring in is going to be crucial...all the build up play we can put together, the wing play, the crosses...will mean nothing if nobody is on the end of them...(again)...

Although we'll never hear, I reckon he's taken a wage drop per season in exchange for the extra one. Eg 2 x £300k better than 1 x £400k

Not sure about this to be fair But in NW we trust. Definitely end of line for Jordan can see him at a top end lg 1 club like Bolton.

Not sure I’d of given him a two year deal but Neil knows best.

Good if as back up but if he's starting as our only out and out striker in a front 3 next year we're totally fucked 2 years is a year too long for me. Really hoping this is the summer we stop fannying about and buy a proper striker. Ages since we had a proper talisman (Rhodes in his first stint?)

I've thought this about Ward too. He often has held the ball well but then there is nobody anywhere near him to play it to. I think he'd be cracking in the Novak role when we had Rhodes and Novak up front so maybe we'll see 30 goals a season Rhodes back ?!?!

Guessing Rhodes be leaving as not really featured under warnock Warnock said Rhodes was the best finisher at the club but he couldn't play him because he couldn't give him the service. Things might be different this season depending on who comes in so he might well feature more this coming season, we'll have to wait and see.

Warnock likes people around him he knows and trusts and obviously ward is every bit that.
Glad hes staying on but as others have said, ideally it'll be as a back up option to a more prolific striker. But at the back end of games where experience and know how are needed he'll be a good option to call on...and although he doesnt get many, he's always been capable of coming up with a belter from nowhere every now and then.

I’d actually say wards hold up play for a loan striker is fairly decent when the ball is played into his feet.pinged up to his head or chest yeh that’s not his game.he’s also not going to receive it and beat 2/3 players.but I’d say it was steady as things go. He’s a decent option in my opinion but like I say it’s as an option not a must for me.

I don’t imagine there are many players who would sign for 12 months though.generally 2 years is the minimum is it not.there will be exceptions but generally speaking.

When I read what the guy said about ward non existent hold up play doesn’t really watch the games. If he did, he would notice the ball stays up that end of pitch longer when ward is playing.

Hope so. If he left he'd need to be replaced and decent championship wingers don't come cheap.

We have had one good year out of him from three this time around. He is getting older and slower, it just seems like a waste of funds to me. I would never have bought him or Rhodes, but we do seem to have a fixation on old players way past their best.

Depends if warnock fancies 3 at the back as be surprised if setup 4-4-2 week in week out.

Glad Ward has decided to stay under Warnock's guidance. We still need at least Koroma to resign as well as another top Championship striker to share the load with Ward up top. Will we see one? It all depends on the new ownership and what they decide they can spend. I am more than a little concerned about the whole set up down at the stadium though. Will KN want to dispense with the sports centre? Will he want to own the ground? All these decisions will have to be made and all come with consequences for the town. If it means not buying another striker then I am happy with Rhodes staying.

2 years is a risk, as DW is 32 and has a track record of injuries. But if he is going to be more of a squad player then fine. I don't think with what NW said, that he will be our main cf this comming season.

As a squad player, and for morale / dressing room management it’s great news but we definetly need two new faces in the striker department. Maybe a PL loan, then one ok the books.
Neil pointed to that in his interview even saying they need to be hitting at least double digits …..
