I might be behind the curve so apologies if so but I have just listened to his first interview and was very impressed. Early days but he handles himself with class and presence. Clear forthright answers and a clear vision. big improvement .

Yeah same here.
It’s early days but the engagement (Kevs limited interaction via Twitter), the appointment of JE / NW seems far better than the last 4-5 years.
Quality decision making has always been lacking at Town and hopefully that’s changing

Hope he does well obviously, but the proof will be in the pudding as they say. They all talk a good game, however results on the pitch are what bring any Real success.

Exactly .. its interesting how so many people can't wait to jump to be impressed before anything has happened. Recent examples Schofield and Fotheringham. Maybe see how we go first ? I can't say I was impressed tbh . All felt a bit "jake humphries high performance " . But its irrelevant. Both Nagle and him might be exceptional . Let's see

I genuinely thought Kongolo was class first season when he was still on loan. I still look back fondly on him smashing Scott McTominay 😜 Following that season he rapidly became a shit lazy toxic player.

Perhaps the good things were intended, but the bad things were unintended (beyond ones control springs to mind).

Top class that loan season, following season he didn't hit the same levels, but nor did any of the other defenders. He still turned up, put a shift in, played for Siewert and didn't down tools. I would say he only became lazy and toxic from the Cowleys period in charge - having been to a world cup and played under top class coaches, he had zero respect for those two clowns.

Was brilliant that loan season however I said at time and since he was not worth 17m I thought we'd had our pants pulled down a bit, upto 10m was probably about right for the market back then. Back to Edwards think to get him from the position he held is a bit of a statement. but let's see what he can do before the Kleenex comes out

The message coming out of the club loud and clear at that period was that the budget needed to be cut significantly and all high earners were to be replaced ASAP. I'm not saying Kongolo covered himself in glory but the club seemed to be doing its best to demotivate the playing squad. He was superb that first season but we did overpay, especially when you consider his injury record and the fact he'd spat his dummy out at his previous club. Having said all that at least he was good at football sometimes as opposed to Mbenza, Diakhaby and Sobhi, well over £20M on players who I'm not convinced were/are even L1 level.

He had talent... it was just deeply hidden and he could very rarely be arsed to come out of third gear. Carlos did manage to unlock it for a spell, Mbenza had some wonderful set piece deliveries and goals, but so often he'd frustrate as you could see the handbrake was still on. The disappeared without a trace. Rather stupidly, I had a choice of match worn shirts between a handful of players and chose his, believing someday it would be worth a decent amount !! Lol.

Anyone think it little unusual that no comments on the new gaffer are attributed to Edwards. Usually it’s him and MC on this kind of thing that gets quoted. This time Kev had the quotes which is pretty rare.
Was he the one wanting Duff and is now having a tantrum in a ball Pool with Alan Nixon? Hmmm conspiracy theories abound!!

No - luckily it seems the club is being run by grown ups.
