A Town 3 points at Boro and Lionesses roaring to victory on Sunday will be a Carlsberg weekend ! Other, better, lagers are available, but I fully support your sentiments. Who gives a XXXX ?

Defensively we've been great so far. 3 goals against, a dodgy penalty, a fluke and a worldie.

Plays some excellent balls out from the back. Corners always beat the first defender and are in the mix. She was out of position for the the Aussie goal but a very classy player.

All credit to the women, excellent achievement and here's hoping they can finish the job. The big difference between the women's team and the men's is the women haven't the fear of losing and haven't the same weight of expectation. Long may that continue.

The commentators, summarisers, and pundits on TV and Radio during the WC have demonstrated that women can talk just as much balderdash about football, and make as many ungrammatical, inane observations, as men. It's a form of equality I suppose.
And another thing.... anybody involved in the broadcasting of the WC who refers to 1966 on air should have to make a substantial donation to a charity. Give it a bleeding rest for Jasus' sake.

Its the first time weve reached the World Cup final..IN THIS SPORT. Its not mens football so why bring our mens football record into it?

I am surprised how much attention it is even getting on here! Our company has a HQ in Spain and the office manager (woman who also used to work at Barca Football club....) had not seen the result and said it has little coverage on media.......

I don't mind that so much , but what does iritate me is the constant replay/camera cycle...a goal is shown from 12 camera angles..plus the coach from both teams, the scorer...the fans , then back to the live action where play has already started a minute ago.. As the games near an end, they throw in crowd shots or nervous looking fans, from every angle and direction...you can hear the game going on in the background but no, the game controller is happily pressing buttons....drives me nuts tbh

Any chance they can get a half decent commentator for the final rather than the one who screeches throughout the game. There has to be better female commentators out there surely

How many teams from England, of any gender, have reached and won any World Cup final? The cricket team have won once (since inception in 75) The Rugby Union team won in 2003, and I think the women's team have won it twice? I'm not aware of many more, even in more recreational pastimes (I'm thinking of darts, snooker, golf - and those would be largely insignificant competitions within their sports), so it is a pretty momentous achievement. It's even better if they win it. If they do win it might give the men a kick up the arse that it can be done (the men are good a blowing good opportunities) or it might be used as a(nother) stick to beat them with. It's a perfectly reasonable comparison if you ask me.

Enjoyed that game between bouts of Invoice creation Have to defend better in the final I should imagine. Kerr could (should?) have had at least one more goal. Apart from that though Earps was mostly untroubled, defenders did their job under spells of pressure. Good luck to Convictatthemac and the Aussie ladies in the 3rd/4th play off. Thanks mate, good luck to your ladies in the final. Think we’ve played our final last weekend. Best thing that has happened is that this has inspired another generation of kids for us, hopefully the girls and boys. I also hope it starts some investment in the game from higher up. I think it's quite insulting to the players, team, management etc. Accept it for what it is, rather than repeatedly, or repetitively, comparing it to the England chap's version, history etc, as if there is a need for some justification for the women's competition... I would hope that when the Beeb covers the World Athletics Championship they aren't comparing the women's and men's individual and team performances ad nauseam.

Lazy and hackneyed stuff from the journos and pundits will abound. Anyway, you missed the Rugby League World Cup from your list. There is little point, however, comparing Clive Sullivan to Georgia Wilson...

They aren't comparing anything, this is the first time an England football team has qualified for a World Cup Final since 1966. That's a fact. I really don't know why so many get their knickers in a twist over it 🙄

Also, not sure if it's the Aussies or FIFA but there's some odd stats coming up on screen. Who cares what the average time to regain possession is 🤷
