Not sure of the substance, but seen various rumours flying around that he is set to join us on a short term deal.
Was very highly rated at palace until he spent almost 2 years out with damaged ligaments and then almost another year with a hip injury. Think he then went to Bromley last season but again, suffered injury.

Sounds like our kind of signing. Last club in the conference and riddled with injuries

Was he at Palace when Warnock was manager? Before all his injuries he was supposed to be well thought of, perhaps NW thinks he's worth a trial to see if he's recovered from the injuries?

But yes, even with that being said Dreher would've been about 16/17 then.

On trial, no problem.
I can't see this being any more than that (unless the trial goes well) - if it's even that!
Most likely it's his agent talking him up to get him a club.

Warnock wouldn't go for this kind of shite. When he was at Middlesbrough, Warnock took a similar punt on Duncan Watmore. He had also been plagued by injuries and had been without a club for a few months. Obviously Watmore had a more impressive CV than Dreher does, but it shows an appetite from Warnock to explore opportunities like this. Signing Watmore definitely paid off - he did pretty well for Middlesbrough and is now doing the same at Millwall. If Warnock thinks it's worth a punt, then it's worth a punt. 9 times out of 10 stuff like this won't work out, but I guess the odd occasion that it does makes the rest worthwhile.

I am not too sure that we have the room for taking risks like this. We have shown recently that every one we have taken failed miserably.

Taking a punt on someone that might come off but we’re not relying on, as long as the price is right I don’t see it being a huge issue. Drops into the B team and gets a gig if he earns it.

With due respect to the lad, who I'd never heard of, he's had more injuries than my Great Grandad had, who fought at Gallipoli and the Somme.

If we were financially in a better position I might agree, but it looks to me as though we're shifting out the players that are unlikely to make the grade this season in order to free up some budget. Using up that budget on a punt this season doesn't really fit with that. Unless he's brilliant, subject to injuries that are unlikely to recur AND cheap (or at least two of those 3) I can't see it.

If there's anything to this, then I can't see it being anything other than an extended trial. Something like up to a 4 week contract to check him out.

How come the belief in Warnock has evaporated so quickly ? I am not sure that everyone ever believed that by just keeping NW we would be all right. We all expected the first team to be strengthened and so far we can't even get a realistic link with a player of championship standard. The window hasn't closed as yet but the longer it takes the more pessimistic people will become. If we leave it to the last day of the window I hope we have a new fax machine as well as a backup and plenty of spare paper.

How come the belief in Warnock has evaporated so quickly ? Don't think it has? Without him this board would be in meltdown! The lack of signings is pretty baffling really but even if we don't sign anyone I'd expect us to avoid relegation with NW in charge, that doesn't mean us fans will be happy with a season of treading water though. Maybe we're planning on the usual expensive and ridiculous panic signings come January if we're struggling or get injuries. Kamberi should still be available at least.

How come the belief in Warnock has evaporated so quickly ? It has not. The squad is bottom third in the lg and anyone who follows this lg knows the reality. With that being said , the squad doesnt need much. Id be happy to go without a striker if we got a realiable dm and a rb. Warnock is a great manager but there are limits to magic.
