You are allowed to comment on what you see. It’s not criticism, it’s observation. Wasnt criticising, just said it was funny and that town fans were predictable and it is funny my friends were saying it’s a poor following yet didn’t go very ironic and probably very similar to on here , and I’m not criticising you as I don’t know if you went or even commented on the following I was just pointing out the funny irony. I guess we have a reputation for decent away support so such a low turnout does surprise folk, including those who don’t attend away games, and I am one who doesn’t. An 8pm kickoff on a Monday night, plus it being televised, I am sure didn’t help

Went on Monday , worth every second and penny. Speaking to some fellow town friends day after all saying what a poor following it was , I agreed but found it quite funny that all those saying it was a bad following hadn’t attended the irony . Town fans are pretty predictable though . You are allowed to comment on what you see. Its not criticism, its observation. I went only because I work away and it’s 40 minutes from work. Had I been back in Gods country I wouldn’t have gone even on a free ticket. I rarely go away now after doing 75% of the away games from the promotion season and the 2 seasons prior. It’s purely down to Town draining my enthusiasm and the average football we have to watch and have done since that first PL season with the exception of some of the away games in the play off season Town have killed the away support we had, cost may be part of it for some but I’m fortunate it’s not what prevents me. It’s just trailing around the country following a team that invariably loses and plays dogshit football. It’s investing my time into something I don’t full buy in to. I need more than my love for my club to go to long away trips midweek or weekend. I notice clubs like Norwich and Stoke put free coach travel on, a good will gesture, fans support you and you support the fans. As a club, we have no togetherness at all. When I was there on Monday, I just looked around and everyone was spread over a huge area. No grouping up, singing together. It was quite sad to see so few but it’s exactly what I expected.

I’m similar to Ben. Lost enthusiasm for it. Daughters have less too. Many friends who I went with have stopped going since the kids stopped as well
I find myself having good excuses not to go.
Coventry on a Sky game Monday night and I don’t need an excuse. They don’t care about travelling fans. Only interested in subscription fees.
Wendies next weekend £33 in that shit hole. I’ve a 50th to attend starting at 6:00. So won’t be bothering with that either

Thought the same about spreading everyone out, but I just sat where my ticket said which I’m sure everyone else did, probably something the ticket office needed to sort.

Think that sums it up for a lot of fans. I was watching a video on You Tube this morning, Charlton v Town from the 99/00, Friday night we won 1-0 Clyde Wijnhard scored, I went, what a night, Charlton absolutely pounded us but we kept them out, decent Town following that night, delayed Charlton's promotion, albeit temporarily, just thoight we've had nothing like that for 6 or 7 years away from home.

Personally didn’t want Warnock to go, but in hindsight the club have brought a good long term prospect to replace him, I feel quite positive about towns future, and haven’t noticed falling gates or lack of attendance at home or away, Coventry seemed low but 465 going on a Monday night when on sky for a 5 to 6 hour journey there and back returning at 1am on a school night isn’t as shocking as some are making out. Maybe my glass is just half full but I’m happy with that. UTT.

The ground is much fuller than it used to be before the promotion season. I’ve no doubt lots of people have stopped going over the last few years, they’ve been replaced by others.
Away attendances have always fluctuated due to how well we’re doing.
