Remember seeing way back in 2004 at away game versus Oxford United when the Patrons used to have pre game meets with management. Also on that day John Motson turned up for a chat. Clearly remember Sodje winding up the Oxford fans and guess who scored the winner, good old days. Ann Hough scored the winner?

This lovely lady is also a very Classy one.She has always been a very private lady.Same age as our daughter,a close friend of our cousin's daughter and her family . Ann just enjoy every minute of your retirement. You leave Town with us knowing what a fantastic, true ,hard working person you have been .

I agree, seems strange that... Which tends to suggest she was not happy about something. But what? It's none of our business!

I doubt most folk have any idea what she even did. if they didn’t there not fans!! I wouldn't go that far. I know a couple of lads who go home and away, meaningless friendlies, everything. But have no clue about behind-the-scenes stuff.

The new regime seem to be gradually bringing their own people in for various roles within the club. It may be that this is part of that, it may be it was Ann's decision, there doesn't have to be a dramatic reason behind it

Bit of a funny one this...she's 55ish, so not retirement age, it's not her birthday, I don't recall anything about her handing in any notice...and she's gone today, just like that ? I'm not taking anything away from her splendid 30 years service, I have met her...coffee and biscuits in her office and she's lovely...maybe i'm seeing something there isn't but my sensitive nose whiffs a bust up... 55 is **commonly** an age at which workplace pensions can kick in from. Must be a good un if she's ready to retire at 55! I guess maybe they are just changing key positions like new owners do in any industry. It's a shame for Anne if it's not what she wanted but hopefully they'll have looked after her after 30 years. Maybe she can just afford to retire at 55, plenty do if they have good pensions. Announcement is a bit brief though which suggests it's not retirement. Anyway none of our business!!!

Whilst an end of an era is always sad, it always worried me that two of our directors (AH and DTS) have had no outside experience of Town.
In nearly all other industries, the boardroom is made up of people with extensive experience across other firms in the industry and/or outside experience.
That knowledge of what your rivals are doing and/or what new advancements from adjacent industries that you can inject is how firms grow.
Today's announcement leaves DTS as the continuity board member. And that continuity is important. But does he know more about marketing than a guy with 4 household brand names on his CV? Or a deputy marketing director who has worked at at least two Premier League clubs?

As you say none of our business. I would just like to say that for those of you that are still saving into your pension plans:- afford to retire at 55? plenty do if they have good pensions! This may have been true once but not many companies have that good a pension plan any more. Those of us that are a little older may have got ours in time, maybe not. One company I worked for took a pension holiday for 20 years (we kept paying but they did not) once they woke up to the hole in the pension plan they stopped the final salary pension scheme for new entrants. This is typical these days and just about every pension plan out there will not allow you to retire at 55 on a living wage. Hope I have not burst anyone's bubble.

Huge disparity between those on defined contribution vs defined benefit pensions. Lots of the civil service can afford to retire in 50s; police, armed forces, teachers, doctors, nurses etc and also some who were lucky enough to be in a DB pension at a private company from an early age. Most of us will need a huge pot to get anywhere near what a generous final salary pension will pay. They're a thing of the past in the private sector due to being un-affordable.

An ambitious organisation will want their leadership team to have the best experience and background possible to bring in ideas on how to modernise, update and improve. I'm thinking the profile of the American guy that's head of retail branding or whatever (Italian name?) - he's worked at a couple of NBA teams and will be used to doing things to a higher level of sophistication than we currently do.

Echo a lot of the above
30 years in any role a fantastic achievement
And was a great example to a lot of people in the club showing you can progress
Re comment above re lack of outside experience - I get the point but surely it’s about getting the right of experiences and perspectives, She’s worked in a lot of areas within the club, knows it inside out and seemed well respected out of the club others can bring broader outside experiences
All the best with what she does next
