Is he worried that he'll hurt the players feelings? Who gives a fuck! They have disgraced the badge all season, the badge that BELONGS TO THE FANS! André won't be here next season as he won't commit when asked, but who can blame him? He came in to a complete shitshow, a shitshow of Nagle's making. Tell him to front up to the fans now, it's the least we deserve. Waiting a week is just cowardice. Come on it isn't cowardice. I'm not excusing anything but the next thing we hear must be thought through, credible and must address the mistakes and the future plan. It would be all to easy to say something on a quick video but it would be, understandably, jumped all over too. We have been told we will get some communication on completion of the season and I think that's right. Dave has come on and set that expectation, which is much better than complete radio silence. It's not so much when (although asap after the season concludes would be better) it is what we hear that is really important now. The guy has spent 10 months or more pouring honey down the ears of fan and employees. He's not lived up to anything he's said, nothing. A complete failure that's had loads to say throughout the season but zero substance to back it up. The fact that he's waiting a week before he has anything to say is nothing but cowardice. He's failed the club and the fans and needs to front up to his mistakes. Hoping we'll be more forgiving in a week just proves to me he knows fuck all about how badly he's ruined the club in one season!

ben1987 Really good points made there. I think Nagle does need to address what types of people he has been receiving advice from. The whole premise of that youtube series was about taking the opportunity to buy a club quickly which would make it hard to know everything. I took a job once that had a lot of issues. Immediately, I recognized how gargantuan the task was ahead of me. I went and talked to every single person I could find that held my role previously in my organization and similar organizations. Even those I had been told were vile/stupid (many were far from either as the organization had become rotten) provided me with some level of information that helped me out tremendously (and a few of them became long-term confidants). I'm not sure it hasn't happened but i've seen nothing to think that he has had those long sit downs with our last 2 chairmen, people like Sean Jarvis, etc. When I talk about seeing a good deal of hubris, this we have the right way to do it and it will work attitude is exactly what I am talking about. I don't care who you are, it is always best practice to go in to an endeavor with the mindset that you and your appointed people know nothing. Starting from the mindset of we know everything and just need to impart a "winning culture" is not the way to go about that position. If I was Mr Nagle I would be asking for insight from those involved at club's that have been successful. That is more valuable, in my opinion, than relying wholly on those who have history with the club. Those individuals will have biases based on experience. Successful men have good networks with other successful people. Mr Nagle, or at the very least his chosen delegates, should be building that network within English football. Learn from others who are successful rather than those with a history and, potentially, jaundiced opinions. There's an argument that he should have been doing this a year ago, perhaps he did? But at the moment we aren't really seeing the benefit if he did.

Most people are judged on outcomes, not intentions. The Cowshed Loyal has good intentions, but we get enough stick from fans for being too quiet and not having the right banners — but I suppose we’re not billionaire politicians… In the end, the buck stops with Nagle. He’s the money man. He chose to buy the club. He’s the 100 percent shareholder. He’s the chairman. He fired the previous people and brought in his own people. He decided when to sack managers and who to hire in their place. He commissioned a documentary to boost his profile and detail how wonderful he is. He said he’d buy the stadium. He said our aim was the Premier League in three years. He took the plaudits when they came his way. If he’s been receiving poor advice, then he should have picked up on that. You can’t say “this man made his money in the for-profit American healthcare system, so he must be really clever and we have to trust his decisions”, then claim everything that has gone wrong has been someone else’s fault. On that point of advice and advisors, it’s very interesting to note that he’s removed two directors (Ann Hough and DTS), so that the entire board now consists of two people: Nagle himself and Michael Thomas, who is the chief financial officer of The Nagle Companies. Both Americans. Both with no experience in European football. We must now have one of the smallest boards in the entirety of professional English football. Is that the sign of a wise decision maker? I think it’s a clear sign that he is THE decision maker. Your example of the Cowshed is the perfect comparison. You boys have done loads of work, spent your time and money trying to improve the club, genuinely putting your heart and sole into it. However this season despite all your best efforts it’s been absolute dog shit.

dugnet I get what you're saying and I agree that he should certainly take everything with a grain of salt but talking to everyone does usually collectively paint a good picture. There's incidents where i've got better info out of someone that left a position and was absolutely awful in that role than someone still doing it that may see me as competition or whatever.

Mentioned this in a different thread but you know just it's going to be another disaster and we'll be sacking another manager after 6 games and blaming a poor pre season all season. We can't wait til next week. In the spirit of me learning, would you mind explaining the difference between now and next week? I honestly would like to know. Thank you. Clearly it wouldn't make much difference Dave But you have to understand the frustration when we lose 0-4 to Norwich (which wasn't that bad a performance to be fair) the Twitter comes straight out , but then when we actually get relegated, nothing. Personally I don't care about a statement, but I understand those who are pi**ed off and think its inconsistent.

This tweet about Phillips reminds me of a Ricky Gervais tale.
Bloke walks into a town centre and sees an advert for guitar lessons. I dont want fucking guitar lessons!!!!!’ he screams.
You follow Kevin Nagle on Twitter. This is different to following Huddersfield Town. Many people follow Kevin not all Town fans. What makes you think he’s taking to you?
Read the room? What room?
When he said the team were shite against Norwich, he’s fair game. When he puts something important to him on his own Social Media?

Both Americans. Both with no experience in European football. We must now have one of the smallest boards in the entirety of professional English football. Is that the sign of a wise decision maker? I think it’s a clear sign that he is THE decision maker. We definitely need answers (to what's gone wrong) and to where we are going but let's be fair too. Where has he claimed that everything that has gone wrong has been someone else's fault? AB has called out the players and the culture but I am not aware of KN has been pointing fingers (happy to be corrected). As for those directors who have been "moved on" I would observe they were in post when a decision not to support Carlos was taken. Didn't they speak up then? Did they really have any influence? What was their role in running the 1st team. I am far from happy with this season, it is incredibly disappointing at best and woefully inept at worst but let us keep perspective and not be deluded into thinking those moved on were any better. We can't change the past but we need to learn from it. The immediate past is at Mr Nagle's door so let's hear what he says and does now. Rest assured if I think it is a load of vapourware baloney I'll be on here and call it out. I was saying other people have been overly credulous when they’ve said the 100 percent shareholder is a very clever and competent man, while also saying he can’t possibly be responsible for anything that’s gone wrong. (By the way, I’ve always found it weird when people think just because someone made loads of money in one industry, it means they’ll be really good in another one). He’s talked and promised a lot this season. And every time we’ve lurched from one crisis to another, often because of his interventions (criticising Warnock after the Norwich game, for instance). Now we’re down. By the way, I hear Nagle came into Sacramento promising a new stadium and MLS football ten years ago. They have neither. I’m all for giving the guy backing if he’s going to make the club successful. But ultimately, I support Huddersfield Town, not Kevin Nagle. He’ll be gone soon enough and there’ll be another one. That’s how it goes. Sir Amos Brook Hirst was one of the club’s most successful chairman, contributed a great deal to the Town, and became well respected in the wider world of football (F.A. Chairman for over a decade). No one remembers him today, but they remember the players and the managers and the goals. It’s all about football at the end of the day. The fact that we talk about owners so much nowadays — and that they want to be the centre of attention — tells you everything you need to know about the state of the game and its finances, with almost every club effectively insolvent — not exactly your usual business model. I hope the club is a success when Nagles here. But it hasn’t been so far.

There's incidents where i've got better info out of someone that left a position and was absolutely awful in that role than someone still doing it that may see me as competition or whatever. I take the point completely. I would say, looking in from the outside (of the culture, quality and decision making within the club) we were essentially a floundering/failing organisation when Mr Nagle bought us. I would ask a couple of questions of Mr Nagle: Has he spent enough time within the club to really get a handle on the people, culture, strengths and weaknesses? Your comparison is all about your professional approach in assessing and managing change. You were personally invested in the process. Has the delegation of the day to day running of the club to new appointees to his organisation (did either JE or MC have any history of working closely with KN in the past?) worked? Snr leaders often have trusted people who are delegated to do what your identifying. If I'm being blunt, and this lends to the jist of Ben's post, this first year has lacked leadership, purpose and a structure to work to. Consequently we have seen a lot of reactive decisions which has ultimately resulted in our relegation. It is reference to those mistakes and how they will be rectified I want to hear when Mr Nagle does talk to us. There are plenty, many, who understand what we are seeing and are willing to challenge if we can see issues.

I am not going to disagree with the tenure of your post. Those questions need answers, the mistakes owned and a credible plan to recover to be communicated. I just don’t think a week makes a blind bit of difference. Maybe they need a week to come up with a plan? Doesn’t seem as though anyone has had much of one thus far. And there's the real issue. If I was to be critical of the Nagle era I would say it promises much but there is no detail to map that against. I would hope Mr Nagle has learnt a lot in this last year. One of those things should be that we have a passionate and intelligent fanbase who won't easily be fobbed off with mere rhetoric. In short he needs to demonstrate he has a plan otherwise his credibility will be hanging by a thread. That said waiting a week for something coherent and credible is OK by me. If it isn't coherent and credible.....well that's a different debate.

Do you? Why's that? You seem like a nice enough bloke Dave, so I'm loathed to give you both barrels. But Kevin tweeted in quite some detail after the Norwich game in August. Or is that conveniently forgotten about? After 5 games it's ok to communicate but not after 45? Heck - we had weekly videos between Kevin and yourself too. Are we having one net week after the last few weeks of silence? I want this to work Dave but some truths need to be told. We didn't need to read our owner tweeting about Kieran Phillips scoring two goals for Sacramento FFS. READ THE EFFING ROOM. I get the frustration but I'd personally prefer a sober, realistic assessment of what has happened and a thought through roadmap for the future. I think the soundbite social media communication doesn't match the gravity of our situation so receiving something more substantial is required. Get what you are saying, but we were 1/9 to be going down before the match yesterday. We have been favourites to go down for a fortnight. We should have a plan ready to go. In our two most successful recent seasons we signed players from Germany on frees for Wagner and Nicholls, who went on to be Championship keeper of the year, and Pearson for Carlos all in May. Now we’ve been relegated, our rivals are clearly zeroing in on players and we don’t appear to know who will be managing us or what style of football we will be playing. It just feels like we are going to stumble into another season with the same set of losers on the pitch.
