I guess this means City will be on -1000 soon. For all the spending in the prem, that seems a ridiculous punishment. 1 rule for the big clubs, another for the rest.

I see this refers to last season, and that the relegated clubs have been given a right to appeal for compensation... This is why FFP is such a farce in that it takes too long to redress the situation. As I've said before there is no real need for the FFP calendar to be the same as the league calendar...it doesn't coincide with clubs financial year end, or the tax year end..and by making FFP year end to coincide with the end of the january window then the figures, the analysis and any points deduction can be applied to the current season..
If clubs are fiddling they're usually fiddling all year...

Certainly gives Dyche a motivation lever.
But as others have said, where's the punishment for others?

Probably the ideal season to get a points deduction.
They will stay up easily enough.

Probably the ideal season to get a points deduction. They will stay up easily enough. Yes, I can't see them being too indignant about it with the likelihood of 25 points being enough to stay up this season! Edit: Just seen the table. Think even 20 points might be enough.

Could be a shiny new stadium in the Championship next season, whether we'd be there to see it is another matter.

Good, but probably just the tip of the iceberg. Everton has already admitted guilt so there has to be a punishment but you can guarantee the appeal will result in the deduction being halved.

The other two would have gone down anyway, even if Everton had been docked a million points last season.

There's something very Town about the timing of the deduction. Shit on the pitch, awful transfers, and constant flux and turmoil upstairs for a couple of years. And just as soon as things start looking up...

I'd say Everton are a big club, just not a very good one in recent years, average attendance this season just slightly under 40,000 watching a not very good team, if Man city were found guilty it would be very interesting to see how the authorities would react.

United, Liverpool etc who tried to form a new league and kill the premier league get less of a punishment than Everton for this ?

I have always liked Everton as a club.
I just cannot wait to see what sanctions are imposed on Man City.

Leicester & Leeds threatening to sue for being relegated last year.
Farcical. Have Leicester forgotten that they cheated FFP rules to get out of the Championship? They should hand their title trophy back and have it struck from the records if they take legal action.

Everton docked 10 points for not managing to hide their losses though dodgy deals as done by Man City and Chelsea

Everton should be grateful that it's only 10 points and that it's been deducted this season rather than most of the last few seasons where it would have sent them down

They should hand their title trophy back and have it struck from the records if they take legal action. You're allowed a 39m loss over 3 years in the championship. Leeds lost 62m the year they got promoted, and over 20m the year before. They have no leg to stand on.

If the relegated sides are crying foul about Everton, the lawyers must be rubbing their hands about the business they'll get from the top end clubs if Citeh are found guilty, whatever penalty is imposed. This one could run and run.

Apparently we have to feel sorry for Everton and hope they stay up according to the likes of Sherwood and Mills as they are a big club.
Guess it just shows how much pundits really care about most sides .

Guess it just shows how much pundits really care about most sides . There was some chump on Talksport today, an Everton fan, who was claiming that the authorities love to kick Everton when they're down. I was trying to think of a time when this had actually happened and the only thing I could think of was that they were banned from Europe at the height of their powers in the mid 80s. But that was, at least, partially self inflicted as every English club was bang at it, in terms of hooliganism. More recently, they actually benefitted from corruption when Hans Segers threw a couple in the net and saved them from relegation in 1994. Amazing how deluded these clubs are.
