Terrible news. Was in the same class as Mark at Manor road school and later CVHS. Always a Town fan. Always well liked. Condolences to all his family and friends. RIP.

What a sad read indeed and deepest condolences to his loved ones, his friends and his community of Golcar (which I’ve visited The Rising Sun Pub)...
Cancer is such a beast of an illness and I hope his loved ones, his friends and his very fine community don’t feel too alone as it took ma late Daddy in 2006 and his sister (ma Auntie Isobel) in 1999 and I’m sure we have all on DATM suffered the loss of a loved one or close buddy to it - 💔
RIP Hammy (Sounds Scottish nickname that) - Bobby Hoy will be your guardian angel up there tonight and going forward... 😢 🙏

Awful news. Known the lad all his life. Bumped into his Aunt (who was married to ex-Town physio George McAllister) a few months ago and she told me about Mark’s illness. The prognosis seemed more positive at the time, but things have clearly deteriorated since. Mark’s dad, Tony, was the Club’s official sign-writer at both Leeds Road and the JSS, and he also took care of the Match Officials every home game too, so the family have very strong links to Town.

Really sad news about hammy . I've known mark through the Golcar pub scene for quite a few years , and he was always good for a chat . The wife used to babysit him when he was a little lad and she was very upset when she heard the news of his passing this weekend . I was struggling to get tickets for our first premier league game against palace and Hammy helped me out with a couple. A good lad and I know he'll be missed hugely throughout the village . R.I.P Hammy lad...

Played against Hammy when he played for Walkers on a Sunday many times back in the day, and if I remember rightly his younger brother. His face was always around on a Saturday when I played for Golcar. Really top lad. Condolences to all his family and loved ones.

RIP Hammy, was older than me, but we moved in the same circles at Town games and up Golcar. Such a sound bloke and a proper terrier.
I remember on a stag do in Majorca a few years ago now, him walking back from the pool bar and telling me we’d just sold Connor Coady. I was in a right strop about it which made him laugh. He said “Be right we don’t need Conor Coady anyway”.
A couple of years later not long after Schindlers penalty had sent us up I bumped into him at Wembley. We had a celebratory cuddle and he says “Told you we didn’t need Conor Coady!”.
My deepest condolences to his family. Was a pleasure Hammy. Top bloke. Rest easy.

Didn’t know the bloke, but was always a good poster on here.
Always fear the worst when you see a headline post with a posters name.
RIP.

Very sad news. The damned Cancer feels to be getting more and more prevalent as the years go by. Yes treatments have improved but it seems hardly any families have not had to face this devastating thing at one time or another. Deepest sympathy to your family and friends Hammy. RIP

Very sad news. Hammy was a genuinely really nice bloke who will be missed by many. Taken far too young, may he rest in peace.
