He’s not changed much. Knew straight away it was him, although the thread title was a good clue. Unspectacular but reliable player. Good to see he’s ok.

Was he ever genuinely I the frame to be Town manager after being continuously linked with the job? He actually built a good squad at Bradford and probably a bit unlucky not to win promotion. That defeat to Town at VP threw a right spoke in their wheel. He says that he was never a contender, but would have jumped at the chance if he had been.

Funnily enough I was thinking about Terry Dolan a couple of days ago after he got a brief mention on a recent episode of Quickly Kevin. Mid way through a correspondence from a 90's Hull fan was a reference to a folkloric HCAFC incident when Dolan spent part of a game managing the side with a "Sack Dolan" sticker attached to his head. Unsurprisingly I decided I needed to know more about it, and managed to find a 'match report' from Hull's trip to Torquay in Feb 1997. Not what you are after, but an abiding memory of him for a niche section of the Hull fanbase He said it got quite vicious in his last 18 months there.

Anyone decent they had they had to sell, Windass being one. Says he spent £60,000 the whole time he was there and brought in £4.5m in transfer fees.
