I hope he's as good as Worthy. (I loved the way he nullified their two main threats on Wednesday).
This new guy's going to have to learn all about English Championship football and quick. It's not tippy tappy Swiss soccer. It's more of a mans game. Their are plenty of players like Hoggy with the sneaky over the top and onto the instep just inside their half stuff that he may not have seen too much of? I guess we'll find out what he knows soon enough.

Feels like the tide is turning with town. So much more positive energy on Wednesday and us town fans don't ask for much. Passion, effort and 100%. Worthy has done amazing to get this in a few games. I was honestly at the point with Moore where I couldn't be arsed anymore. The turnaround is incredible. This is a great appointment so well done Mr Nagle Hopefully it isn't a false dawn but have to agree regarding the tides being turned. Despite still having a lot of injuries I think it's important to bring up that we've finally got some extra cover and players returning to the squad. But it hasn't taken a great deal really either, just having abit more of a positive approach and trying to win games rather than trying not to lose. If you listen to the interviews with the players they are very honest. You sense that they are as fed up as supporters are in terms of the position we've found ourselves in the league, having been here last season. They aren't a group of mercenaries.

I'd like to hear Alan Nixon's thoughts on this appointment. He was doubling/tripling down on Duff last night, saying that he was interviewed 3 times and that him not moving to the area doesn’t stack up as a reason for him not getting the job - even though it was Nixon that said that in the first place. He also backed it up by suggesting Warnock was commuting from Cornwall whilst managing us 😂

Id like to think he is now holed up in his cinema room watching every minute of towns matches over the last two seasons and carrying out a forensic investigation into the attributes of every single player, whilst also doing similar analysis into the upcoming opposition. As opposed to rocking up on Monday and reinventing the wheel. And please someone tell him not to change the way we kick off just for the sake of it! We've kicked that way for decades now, the players are used to it, as are the fans, and it doesn't need changing!

Unless manager is a normal skilled work visa.

Firstly a big well done to Worthy over the last few weeks has shown what positivity and actually attacking teams can do as opposed to Moore,s negative approach. Good luck to Andre hope he,s as successful as Wagner was for us. Looks to have a good record a few promotions and a title with Zurich. Hope Worthy signs off with a win Saturday.UTT

Anyone who had any doubts over the ambition of KN - think again. Breitenreiter has taken some convincing, as reported he has had a lot of options over the last year or so but the feeling is in Germany his stock is a little low atm despite doing some great work at Paderborn & Schalke as we all know in football you"re only as good as your last job. He sees the project at Town as his "speciality" which is overachieving with an "underdog" he has proven the ability to do this over his career. His key strength is uniting a club & I have heard he is a very warm & genuine person not massively motivated by money but more so by core values & culture at a club. A real family man he took a couple of years out of the game before the Zurich job to care for his Father with dementia who has since sadly passed. He is very confident & clear in his philosophy. Hope it goes well, nothing is guaranteed but IMO this is as good as an appointment we could have made. UTT Reading this gets me very excited. Especially the convincing part, means he’s buying into it.

Anyone fluent in German or swiss? Anyone allble to go ask for fans of his previous clubs opinions? I always like the fans opinions, they generally get it spot on. Combining childcare duties with trawling German message boards on auto-translate this morning: Hoffenheim: Nice bloke, good coach, but a run of 8 defeats in 10 and they couldn't sack the players or [Sporting Director] Alexander Rosen. FC Zurich: "Breitenreiter was God". Hannover 96: Great coach (esp. in-game adjustments), inadequately backed by the owners. Good front man - never came out with excuses when results deteriorated. Many still want him back - they go on about him as much as DATM goes on about NW/DW. Schalke: Seems to be held in genuinely high regard. Plenty on there were keen on the idea of him coming back after they binned Thomas Reis last September. SC Paderborn: Funnily enough, after the miracle promotion, they are the most overtly critical of him - mainly due to a perceived lack of commitment to the club and touting himself to potential suitors during the second season. I was genuinely surprised at how little negativity I was able to find towards him among any of these fanbases. Culturally it's a bit different in DE/CH, where the Head Coach is one (admittedly important) ingredient in an over-arching sporting project. Coaches move around frequently, and rarely become as vilified as they do over here. I remember reading the YB-1898 forum around the time of DW's sacking and they were generally far more philosophical and sympathetic towards him and his time there than the DATM experts. A common theme in the last couple of days seems to be surprise that he hasn't ultimately ended up at Hamburg as he seems a very logical candidate to finally drag them out of the wilderness of 5 years in the second tier.

These things normally happen on a Friday.
If this isn't a huge wind-up, I reckon they'll announce him tomorrow with JW still in charge for this weekend.
But let's not forget, fly in the ointment - because of Brexit any European is going to need a work permit, so it may still take a few days, even weeks to confirm.
A few already did before Brexit. Only 27 of the countries in Europe were actually in the EU you know. Not a dig at you mate, but it annoys me when people seem to think the EU is all of Europe. FFS Hanabie (a Japanese metal band in case you were unaware) even advertised their European tour as EU until it was pointed out to them that some of the countries they were visiting aren't in that superstate Yeah those Armenian, Georgian and Azerbaijani heavy metal fans were outraged at the faux pas.

I loved Wagner, but the underdog shit was the worst bit. We are no more an underdog than quite a few teams who make a success of surviving in the Premiership. I'm not stupid, no way foreseeably that we'll ever win it again, but no way we can't be a player.

Anyone fluent in German or swiss? Anyone allble to go ask for fans of his previous clubs opinions? I always like the fans opinions, they generally get it spot on. There is no Swiss language - there are four recognised languages in the country, primarily German, French and Italian. The other is Romansch which is only really spoken in one Canton.
There is Swiss German (think German mixed with gutteral Welsh) which has so many dialects, that people from neighbouring valleys often cannot understand each other....
I am asking a few colleagues of mine in Zurich, but Football is not exactly top of their sporting interests.

I know justaguy will have read this thread but I hope KN reads it too. Nothing is ever certain in life and football but, at long last, I have a sense of anticipation and excitement with Town again. The immediate priority is to secure safety for another season. Achieve that and I genuinely think that the incredible togetherness, excitement and success we had under DW in 2016-2018 can be repeated. Then, KN will really understand what makes this club so special and so important to us all. I ordered my ticket for Watford yesterday morning not knowing it would be AB’s first game, but my anticipation in looking forward to next weekend was already high because of what JW had achieved, now it’s even higher. Yep. And as the good and the bad I keep him informed every day. He’s not effing around, and it’s really great to see some of the reactions attesting to that. Trust is built in time. Mistakes are always going to be made. But when I say he’s obsessed (along with Jake/Mark/everyone) with getting back to the PL, I mean it. Nothing is guaranteed. But I can honestly tell you the days of being the tiny little hamlet of Davids facing Goliaths is over, at least when it comes to club mentality in the boardroom. It’s “screw everyone else, let’s get it together and kick some asses”. That’s the INTENT. Win win win at all costs. And they will. Only question is how long will it take and what’s the path. Me personally, after seeing this squad get healthier and playing with freedom? If we actually get healthy, and Della and Helik are sharing the pitch with Sorba and the rest of the lads? Could be something to see. LFG UTFF

I'm not stupid, no way foreseeably that we'll ever win it again, but no way we can't be a player. If we get promoted again, we will be the underdog in nearly all the games. Doesn't mean we go into games with any less intent. It can be motivation. Worked in our first season in prem. UTMFT
